Leafs Lack Of Defence

I watch with amazement how the Toronto Maple Leafs defensmen always pinch, and try and make the offensive play. They do not have more then 3 goals from any defensmen, yet they pinch and never support when needed. Exhibit A was Tomas Kaberle hanging out Luke Schenn to dry against the Caps tonight. I was taught in novice minor to always backup your fellow D partner when he has the puck and always assume he may lose it. Tonight Luke is in an obvious trouble spot with the puck and Kaberle is going into the zone instead of backing him up. The result is a heartbreaking goal which cost the Leafs the game. I personally can't wait for the end of The Tomas Kaberle era with the Leafs which has a record 6 probably now 7 years of no playoffs. Maybe his dad can blame Ron Wilson for that too.

Luckily I was able to attend the Toronto, Tampa Bay game tonight thanks to my friend Rick Buckley who got very good tickets for me. That said I've officially had enough of Ron Wilson. This egomaniac deserves to be fired.

Let me explain

I have not jumped on him during the calls for his head recently. I assumed he was a good coach, that is until I witnessed tonight his ego get the best of him. Lets forget the fact he matched up the Leafs slowest defencemen Mike Komisarek against Steven Stamkos line all night which cost the Leafs 2 goals tonight. The 2nd by St. Louis in front of Gustavsson while Komisarek is at the hash marks leaving one of the top scorers alone was atrocious. Lets forget that.

The ego was shown with 12.8 seconds left, when Wilson called a timeout. I saw Stamkos bent over tired, since he had been on for 2 minutes, and St. Louis didn't look very energetic either, and yet Wilson calls a timeout!!! Why I ask Why? The Lightning had no timeouts as they already used one earlier to rest Stamkos's line. So he could change Tim Brent for Tyler Bozak. he called a timeout and still changed a line. All he did was use a timeout for the sake of doing it, and maybe some air time on TV. In the meantime he gave Stamkos and St.Louis a 40 second rest. Of course Stamkos with the new found energy hops on the face-off back to the point and Bobs your uncle!!

What bothers me even more is no one is saying the timeout was a bad decision. And of course Ron Wilson does like any good leader does and deflects to his players.... What a leader..

He blames his veterans, and Luke Schenn, and the guy serving the cokes, but heaven forbid his insane call of a timeout was any reason why they lost. If you were sitting beside me as I witnessed Stamkos sucking for air, I was screaming "No timeout". I saw in the greens what some high priced ahole behind the bench couldn't, and apparently what the press couldn't either. Ron Wilson is officially an asshole!

My Take On The Leafs So Far

Well the Leafs so far can be summed up like this

" What the *&*^ is going on"

Look I wasn't expecting miracles. Even after a 4-0 start I suspected this team was a 500 team at best which would compete and hopefully improve over last year with some glimmers of hope. From what I've seen so far they are actually regressing in every position except goaltending.

Goaltending (B+)
I have been really impressed with Jonas Gustavsson. I think he has improved over last year with his patience and handling the puck. I think he is the real deal and the #1 goalie they have. I think the Leafs have no worry in net with his emergence and that of what looks like another promising young goalie in Jussi Rynnas. As for Giguere he has played well however he was the reason they lost the game to the Canucks and uttered. "I won't be losing any sleep over that goal". I think he should have!!!!

Defensmen (D-)

Complete and utter disappointment. Other then Luke Schenn it has been abysmal. It has been good to see Schenn get back confidence and play well, looks like the sophomore jinx that plagued him last year is gone. I have never seen Tomas Kaberle play this bad. He has been absolutely awful. Who knew no one was afraid of Dion Phaneuf. I thought he was this scary character that created fear in opponents. When I saw Tomas Plekanec pushing him around I assume the league has realized he isn't tough. I think he can be an important piece going forward but he is not tough! Francois Beauchamin has a knack of going for the 60 ft pass which results in a turnover or an icing. Mike Komisarek can't complete a 10 foot pass unless it is to the other team. I think his coaches through his hockey career have forgotten to tell him it is not a good idea to blindly throw a puck in front of his net! What is worse is when he setup a perfect one-timer for Mike Camalleri he called it lack of execution. I would suggest lack of brains. I am hoping Carl Gunarsson is in the same sophomore jinx that enveloped Schenn. Brett Lebda is putting a pretty convincing case forward for worst Maple Leaf of all time. I have no idea what position he plays and he has played 11 games with 0 points and is -10. What the fuck are you doing jumping into rushes when you have no offensive ability at all!!!!! Putting him in against Ottawa instead of Aulie is crazy logic to me!

Forwards (LOL)
As a collection of forwards they are by far the worst in the league I will go through them one by one.

Kessel - I don't get why Wilson rides him when he doesn't backcheck; the whole F'n team does not backcheck so why single Phil out. The only one on the Leafs with offensive talent. He has no one to play with. I like him. Obviously too much was given up for him but that's not his fault that's Brian Burke's fault.

Kulemin - The only forward on the Leafs who uses his body and strength and can forecheck. Seriously he is the only Leaf who can forecheck with any kind of success. I think he is a good solid forward and would benefit with any kind of centre with talent.

Orr - He does his job and crap he has more goals then 7 of the forwards on the Leafs. I think he has played well.

Grabovski - I see a joke. I know everyone including Wilson and Burke tell you how hard he tries. I see turnovers and lack of effort. It is amazing how when he lets Fisher go and doesn't backcheck he does not get benched, however when Kessel does the same thing benched. The difference Kessel has talent Grabovski is useless. Please explain the love affair Wilson has with him.

MacArthur - Mr. "October". Reminds me of Brian Savage. I see why Atlanta didn't sign him. He bails on every forecheck. King of the drop pass to the other team.

Kadri - I know he's young so I will cut him slack but unlike Cherry I see a coward on the ice. He might have talent, but he is plays scared. Unless he grows a set will be a bust!!!

Versteeg - I want Stahlberg back. They have the same amount of goals, while Stahlberg make less. Another coward on the ice, who takes bad penalties and is not held accountable by the coach. I am amazed every time he gets the puck on his stick he stops skating and just glides. Wacth him.

Bozak - I am hoping this is the same sophomore jinx Schenn had. Build him up as a #1 centre maybe pressure has gotten to him. He shows rays of talent and looks responsible defensively. What I don't like is every time he touches the puck he tries to get the puck to Kessel. He should be more greedy.

Brent - Please explain to me why this guy is in the NHL. He is supposed to be this smart defensive forward. Just in case anyone was looking he is -1 and on the 29th worst Penalty Killing Unit. Please explain this defensive genius to me. Every time he steps on the ice I know the Leafs won't score.

Sjostrom - Man can this guy skate. Man is this guy useless!!!!!!!!

Brown - see Sjostrom. Just better facial hair.

Zigomanis - While I am not as high on him as Don Cherry, he was a better Penalty Killer then Brent.

Armstrong - 8 games 1 goal no assists -2, and a coward. Please explain the 3 million a year to me! What I saw was lack of skating ability and a poor man's Matthew Barnaby. Maybe he might turn into a solid 4Th liner who can kill penalties.

Mitchell - 13 games 1 assist -2. Career 148 games 53 pts -25. Need I say anymore. He might get a point a game in a men's league team in the GTA!

Caputi - Other then the fact he can't skate, forecheck, shoot, fight, pass, I can see why the Leafs liked him so much. He is from Toronto right!!!!.

Brian Burke and Ron Wilson should instead of getting mad at all the media in Toronto should take a good look at how they have managed this team. I like them as people however there record is what they should be judged on.

Can Scotty Bowman answer a Direct Question

On the way to work in the morning I always listen to the Hockey Insider on the Fan 590. On every day except for Tuesday it is mildly entertaining. However Tuesday is Scotty Bowman day. I guess he was a good coach in the NHL even though coaching Mario Lemieux in his prime, Yzerman, and Fedorov in there prime and the 1970's Canadiens is probably not the toughest feat around, you can't argue with his Stanley Cup rings.

What I can argue his is inability to answer a straight question.

Question posed was How do you think the Leafs after a poor road trip can ramp up to play the Kings tonight, What do they need to do to win? Not a tough question; usually an answer would be better defensive play, good forecheck, etc... No not Scotty's answer.

Scotty's answer ended with how he thought the Tampa Bay Lightning were a resilient team who seem to get behind a lot and come back. Not even remotely related to the question posed.

My advice for Scotty is the same advice I have for Bob Cole..... Stop talking!!!! You're too old!!

Ian White and Best Tiger Joke So Far

Firstly Ian White. Do I hate Ian White....No, Do I think Ian White can play in the NHL....barely but yes, so why am I going to rant about Ian White. Well really its of no fault of his own that I will write this rant. I am sick and tired of hearing Greg Millen, Craig Simpson, Gord Stellick, and Ian's mom (just joking) going on about how much of a surprise Ian White is and that he has made himself into a top 4 NHL Dman.

Ian White is a 4th DMan as I am to chiseled body. He is a Dman with a nice shot, no physical ability to win pucks in his own end, a penchant for making the worst pinches the league has ever seen since Chris Kotsopolous, and no ability to adapt to the game in front of him.

If you want an example watch the Pittsburgh game last Saturday. He is on against the Sidney Crosby line, and completes 2 pinches where he neither gets the puck or the body to create odd man rushes. After this shift you would think maybe crap I should hang back, but no Ian can't grasp the concept and goes on to pinch at will creating chances not in the offensive end but his end. He then proceeds to trip on his own goalie to create a goal.

Again I don't hate Ian White, I hate the idiot announcers who have crowned him this star of the team, when he is the very reason they are where they are in the standings. Ian White is lucky he is in the NHL as far as I am concerned.

As for the Tiger Joke

If we were playing gentleman's golf wouldn't we just give Tiger and 8 and move on to the next hole?

The Leafs Did Play with Truckulence

Well tonight the Leafs played with truckulence, too bad against Luongo. Well that and the referees must have forgot that when you put your hand on the puck in the crease that it is a penalty shot. Also hooking penalties can be called in the final 2 minutes just in case they were wondering. 6 penalties in a row, but when the Canucks are in there zone for the entire third period amazingly they received no penalties. Must be all the foot speed they showed. None of them hooked a soul, or took there hand of the stick once. Amazing!!

Are The Leafs Really That Truckulant?

But the Leafs were going to be tough right. I believe the word was truckulent. I am struggling with the definition. Maybe Brian Burke could elaborate....

Maybe truckulent means fighting the other teams toughest players. If so Colton Orr and Jay Rosehill fit the definition, but that's it.

If truckulent means fighting for the puck in all areas of the ice, sacrificing yourself to block shots...etc..etc, which I believe is the definition; Who on the Leafs fits this definition? John Mitchell, Niklas Hagman, Mike Komisarek, Luke Schenn, and maybe Jeff Finger could be put in this category.

Maybe truckulence means being a wimp in the corners never winning a battle or competing and pulling at your mouthguard after every whistle, Ala Matt Stajan, Richard Walin, and Nikolai Kulemin.

Maybe truckulence means taking horrible penalties 200 ft from your goal, Ala Matt Stajan, Jason Blake, and Lee Stempniak.

Could be truckulant means not being able to stop a wrist shot from the blue line let alone the top of the circle, there we would have Vesa Toskala.

Maybe truckulant means turning the puck over at the drop of a hat, Ala Beauchmin, Ian White, and company.

Or could be the very definition that Brian Burke wants his team to be is not the one he made or has.

On the way home today one announcer said the following

"There are 13 NFL games on Sunday with of course the biggest game of the weekend Minnesota vs Cleveland" I nearly fell over, what a moron. Why is this the biggest? Because Brett Favre will throw 3 INT's. I might go on a limb here but I bet the Was/NYG, GB/Chi games might be a little better to watch.

Listened to Bob McCowan for 5 minutes I will never get back. He spent that time talking about chartering air flights. Exciting was the only word I could use. It is unbelievable that in a city like Toronto the best sports talk is a guy talking about chartering aircraft.

Coalition Goverment

Who would have thought 2 weeks ago that the word coalition would be one of the most popular words in Canada right now? I don't even know how I can sum up my feelings about this Liberals/NDP/Bloc coalition properly. Here are my thoughts.

1. Stephen Harper in October was "ELECTED" (key word in a democracy) to be the leader of a minority government. Even though I am a right winger I have to say that Harper has failed, and tried like a dummy a long time ago named Joe Clark to run it like a majority. He proposed a stoppage of public funding on votes, without a majority. I don't understand how Harper miscalculated the greed of the Lefties. Did he think for a second that the Liberals/NDP would accept this? These are 2 parties that thrive on stealing money from the public in taxes. $2 a vote you were taking from them. No A Damn way as Dion would put it. I absolutely agree that there should be no public funding of any parties, and forget the fact that the Conservartives from the last election would have given up the most, you can only get this passed in a majority not a minority. Simply put Harper made a mistake. On another note all lefties seem to appreciate Barrack Obama, and I must admit I do too. Just one question...Did he use any public funding to create one of the greatest campaigns ever? No he did it the logical way, he did it from grass roots level, Dollar by dollar which was given to him by free will, not mandated.

2. I know that Jack Layton is dumb, but even I miscalculated on how stupid this man is. Let's work on the questions he might receive that will embarass him and his party, which will make them go back on there positions they went to the poll with...First question Jack Did you not propose a bill that would bring our soldiers home from Afghanistan? OK now your in power let's get it done...Uh-Oh what's this you say your coalition does not agree? Second question Jack did you not propose an end to the tax cuts for big business? Ok now your in power get it done....Uh-Oh the Liberals don't agree.....etc., etc. Let's see in the next debate... How would you go about differentating your party from the Liberals? I remember in the debate how Jack said the Liberals lied in there Red Book. So let me get this right.... now they don't lie???. I remember how Jack was so upset about the cuts to art funding. Let's see how quickly that will get restored if Smiling Jack gets his cabinet position... Jack you have basically doomed the NDP's good on you sir.

3. Our potential new Prime Minister goes on TV to respond to Harper. He looks disheveled, and has all the charm of a driving instructor. As he was talking I noticed a book behind him called "Hot Air". I mean How could you even make that up? All Canadians make fun of George Bush and his many words of wisdom, but for heavens sake I don't think George Bush would allow for a sign of Hot Air behind him when he talks. This is our potential PM who will lead us through the economic crisis. Wow if he takes over I must say I will be relieved.

4. In May the Fiberals will elect a new leader who with this coalition would be PM for a year without ever being elected. Does this make sense?

Anyways saw the collection of people at the rally to support the coalition in Ottawa, all 2000 of the finest looking Canadians we can find. Wonder if any of them understand that they are all doing this for $2 a vote cash grab?

Liberals Media Control

I am fascinated by the spin the Liberal Party can put on anything. There were 4 byelections held on Monday, of which 3 were in urban centres, which features most of our left wingers wet dreams for voters. Really the worst of the worst. They think they are intellectuals because they want to help everybody, and yet these so called "Big" thinkers reward dismal performances any time they have a chance.

Anyways the Liberals owned all 4 seats, and only won 3 back and were nearly beat in Vancouver Centre and they call this a victory? I mean I don't make up this shit. It was a victory to win 3 of your 4 seats back. LOL. I mean I heard Martha Hall Findlay say this was a message from Canadians that they don't like Harper. What the hell? Let me gets this right, the Liberals owned 4 seats before the byelections. They now own 3. The Conservatives actually got more votes then before, and the message was the Conservatives are failing. Am I missing something?

Well considering this comes from a party that has annoited Bob Rae the birghtest man in there party I should not be surprised. Maybe someone should look at Ontario from 1990 to 1994 and what happened to this province under the so called genius of Bob Rae and explain why any party would even consider this asshole a genuine candidate. That is until I forgot that Canadians reward people who underperform. I mean am I a fuckin moron or does anyone remember Rae Days, social contract, 90's depression in Ontario. Or all Ontarioans for the most part idiots?
Can someone please explain why Bob Rae should be considered for anything other then a janitor? Seriously please explain, I am in need of some enlightening.

Mats Sundin - Not A Winner

This season for the Leafs has been to say the least depressing. Firstly to watch the march of the Leafs to finish 9th, the definition of the "Asshole Cup", you know where you don't qualify for the playoffs or the draft lottery is disgusting. The Leafs have wrapped up the Asshole Cup for the previous 2 years with late season surges for absolutely no reason. I have wondered in the past why these results are OK, and I believe you need to look no further then the "Country Club" atmosphere on the team led by this so called leader "Mats Sundin". Why do so called disgraces like McCabe, Kubina, and Tucker want to stay in Toronto? Why do Toronto fans, who for the most part think they understand hockey, not boo McCabe and Kubina every time they touch the puck? Why is the ACC sold out every night even though the team is one of the softest collection of losers ever assembled? Easy answer, It's a country club!!!

Think your Darcy Tucker, who at best is a good grinder, and does work hard. This year you hit the wall harder then Bridgette Nielsen has, and refuse a trade from a losing team to a winning team. Why do you do this? Because you love the Leafs? Bullshit. The reason you do this is your not held accountable for your horrible play. Who is holding you accountable , your captain? Laughable. I know I am Mats Sundin, I haven't won a Stanley Cup and I tell management No I don't want to win a Cup I would rather be done in April and retire to my cottage in Sweden, What kinda of attitude is that for a leader? It's a loser attitude. Now you expect the other players to be upset about not making the playoffs with a guy who thinks a gold medal is better then a Stanley Cup? With that kind of leadership maybe Mats should run for the Liberals.

In Toronto right now the Inmates are running the asylum. They let a coach like Paul Maurice who knows he needs to win every game to keep his job, and you leave him in and wonder why Tosakala starts 23 straight games. Because he gives you the best chance to win. There are 3 things certain in life, Death, Taxes, and Raycroft starting=Loss. Raycroft should start every game from now on in, as they have no chance at making the playoffs, but no we get 23 straight Tosakla starts, because hell if we don't win the Asshole Cup for the 3rd straight year. Until someone comes in who is a Leader the Leafs are destined for this bullshit mediocrity.

For a fan like me It's just sad!!! I wish Fletcher had a bigger set, and tell Maurice your fired anyways put Raycroft in.

Toronto Maple Leafs Situation

In a word the Leafs organization is broke. Hear is what I think the organization should due from easiest to toughest.

1. If Andrew Raycroft is not put on waivers the minute he lands at Pearson Airport it is safe to say this organization is the worst in the history of the NHL. Raycroft hasn't stopped a puck in 2 years. He can't move in the net and has shown that he is not an NHL calibre goalie. He needs to be bought out. Everyone says he is a nice guy, Who f'n Cares. He can't stop a puck.

2. I think the blueprint for How to rebuild is just down the halls of the ACC at the Raptors office. The next step would be to fire JFJ and put someone with a lot of credibility and experience in an Interm role. My suggestion would be Cliff Fletcher. The Raptors fired Rob Babcock and put Wayne Embry into an interm role with a mandate to move as many long term contracts as possible to free up space for the new GM. I think Cliff Fletcher could do this. Move Sundin, and get picks. Get rid of as many long term contracts (like McCabe, Kubina, Tucker etc.) as possible. With so many teams in contention you might be able to unload some of these contracts to teams desperate enough. The new GM who steps in should be able to start at ground zero if possible and not be hobbled by contracts. MLSE must also understand rebuilding isn't a year long process it may take more.

3. Any young players who are in there organization who have not improved or are not NHL players, like Matt Stajan and Alex Steen should also be moved. Look when Matt Stajan is a useful player, which will be soon in the rec league he will be playing in. Alex Steen has talent just no desire. If young guys don't look like they will fill the bill move them when they are young instead of waiting and hoping they will grow a set of balls.

4. Hire new GM right at end of season. I don't care who the new GM is, he must be in place before the off-season begins, maybe possibly bring him in before the end of season. MLSE if they truly care about winning won't be counting pennies, bring in a new GM who then makes a decision with what to do with coach, which brings me too.

5. Fire Richard "Tricky Dick" Peddie. Look there are a number of reasons to fire this man. He simply has no brain in his head, and Let me explain. Any person in a leadership role like Peddie is in knows in management 101 if you are asked to comment on an employees performance the answer is either positive or "No comment", not "I made a mistake". Talking to the media; shows what an ingrate he is. Does he think he is a "Rock Star"? He has no class no sensibility and more then likely has an ego which does not match his performance. He goes on about how he makes money for MLSE. Wow Richard tough to do. Put a Leaf symbol on anything and anyone can sell it. Don't be proud of that?
I will leave these statements of Richard Peddie to show what a hypocrite he is.

First He states any GM he has had has the autonomy to make any and all Hockey decisons. Last week when asked about Mats Sundin being traded Peddie states That will have to be brought up to the Board? What kind of doublespeak is this, and when will MLSE do the right thing and fire this joke who's claim to fame is he designed the Frito-Lay Chip bag?

This is my five cents and in my opinion unless all 5 things are done above, I do not see How the Leafs will get any better. Maybe not showing up to the Leafs games will help too.

Steve Simmon's Has A Man Crush

I think I have finally found out the reason that Steve Simmons keeps writing articles about John Ferguson Jr. and how he should be fired. I wondered where Steve Simmons has the hockey intelligence to offer up this truly enriching intelligent advice from, but then I got it. I think it is because Steve has a man crush on Ferguson. I mean in the last 200 articles Steve has written, he has mentioned John Ferguson Jr in every one. Even in the summer Simmons gets in a jab at Ferguson. I think Steve is a little jettery in the knees when it comes to Ferguson. I mean Steve Simmons does bare a certain resemblance to a "Comme-ci, comme-ca" movie critic on the E network. I think I have finally cracked Simmons code.

By the way Has Steve Simmon's ever written an interesting article? Has his appearances on TSN reporters ever been good? I will never understand how anyone can view this twitching meth addict as entertaining. Oh well maybe someday Steve JFJ will give you a call and see How you are doing. Until then lay off the smack and maybe write an entertaining article that doesn't have JFJ in it.

Bryan "Scarecrow" McCabe at work again

I for one respect Paul Maurice as a coach. I have found since he took over from the Phat One, the Leafs have improved there team speed and overall conditioning. Rarely in the last 2 years have I seen the Leafs outworked in a game. However that being said I am really relying on Paul Maurice doing the right thing for the team and benching the NO BRAIN A-Hole they have on defence who's name is the "Scarecrow" If I only had a brain! Bryan McCabe. Is he mentally retarded or is it just me?

Anyone who has had a conversation with me in the last 5 years will know How much I hate Bryan McCabe. If there was a definition of brain-dead in the dictionary Bryan McCabe's retarded face would be the picture. Never in the history of the NHL has there been a D-man with a little talent as McCabe does have, and the absence of a thought. He is plain and simple a friggin joke.

The test will be on Maurice once Carlo C returns to the team will Paul do then right thing and bench McCabe as he is a worthless piece of shit. This will test the mettle of a coach I respect. I hope he does the right thing and send McCabe up to fetch popcorn for the real hockey players on the Leafs. Bryan was on for 5 goals of which 3 were caused by his direct brain farts. Please for the Love of everything that is holy in this utterly F'ed up world I hope Bryan Mccabe gets a condition which does not allow him to skate again so I do not have to witness his boneheaded plays anymore.

By the way Kris Newbury, and Wade Belak when you only play 5 minutes and are -2 please think the Marlies are a stones throw away

On Oct 10th Ontario will go to the polls and what seems to be elect another Liberal government which means for 5 years we will hear how they are going to fix problems, and then do nothing like every Liberal government has done for the past 50 years. This election is particularily disturbing for me because in all honesty my views do not fit into any party. John Tory made the mistake of faith based school funding, which ironically Dalton McGuinty once supported, and the Fiberals and there lackies in the media jumped all over it They have made this useless issue the focus of the election which is extremely sad, but this is what works in Ontario where 80% of the people have no idea what the platforms of any party is, they just vote with that the paper tells them to do. Tell me in your daily lives how many times does faith based funding enter into your day... I would suggest never. We already have faith based funding for Catholic schools which Dalton had the pleasure of attending. Imagine now that he thinks it will ruin the public school system, laughable. Here's is a thought for you, tell me in the last 5 years what has gotten better under the Liberals rule..

Education? I would ask everyone to go back to the high school they attended, and ask if it has gotten better since we left. I would suggest NO.

Health care? Throwing money at it Don't fix it. The Durham area, I was without a doctor for a while, and more and more people have no family doctors.

Crime? LOL

I know McGuinty will say it was the previous Harris's government's fault, but even if it was in 5 years has he made it better and fixed anything. Oh but if he wins I will get another Holiday... Thanks. Can I have my money back?, I would prefer that.

I believe in less government and let the private sector get more involved. Name one public run business that does well? Just one? Visited a park lately, tried to drive in Toronto? The issue is the talented individuals join the private sector because they can be more succesful there. Why not let the really talented people join government then useless failed lawyers, or real estate agents that are just in for the perks. Is there any way of measuring success in any public run business. I know there is in private sector. That's because they set metrics, and budgets to determine level of success. Why can't the government release the metrics they are trying to improve? Why can't they measure success? Why can't I get a tax statement from the provincial government which shows where my money goes> The basic truth is the governement sets itself up for failure and attracts lazy, non-dedicated individuals.

Whoever wins the next provincial election, all the people in Ontario lose! Maybe one day we will demand better service from government, then again maybe pigs will fly?

My Take On Michael Vick

I know I haven't posted in a while, however this Michael Vick case has intrigued me enough for me to provide a rant.

First off Michael Vick is not a smart person. Firstly he takes part in a gambling scheme. We all know how the NFL pretends like gambling is a bad thing (while meanwhile who isn't in an office pool), so thats a bad start. Second he participates in the killing of dogs. The only thing the NFL allows you to kill or hurt is a human being (see Ray Lewis, Pacman Jones and then the many folks who play NFL who have beaten there wives and still play) Strike 2. The strike which I don't understand is; he allows this dogfighting on his own premises. This is not defensible to be that stupid. So for Strike Three I absolutely agree he should face jail time. However how hypocritical is it that people have talked about the NFL banning him for life.

What Michael Vick needed was what Barry Bonds has for friends. Hell Barry just broke a homerun record while his former trainer sits in jail for contempt of court for not ratting him out. The minute the cops showed up at Vick's residence his friends rolled over quicker then a dog getting its belly rubbed. Vick should be banned from the NFL for the same amount of time that Pacman Jones who's bodyguard happened to gun down a bouncer at a strip club, or maybe the same amount as Jamal Lewis who was involved in a cross state drug ring. Correct me if I am wrong but how many games did Lewis and Jones get ....what 8. How about Leonard Little who killed a mother while drinking and driving, and after this gets arrested for DUI again. They get to play in the NFL again. Now Vick will be banned from life for killing dogs? Why cause PETA is mad. What life is more valuable a dogs, or a humans? I guess the NFL believes a dog's. Good for them, I guess I disagree. By the way is OJ in the Football Hall of Fame? He only killed 2 humans, not worth banning him or kicking him out is it?

I am in no way condoning Vick's actions. He deserves the punishment he gets from the legal system. However the NFL treatment of Vick has been absurd. The next time Ray Lewis does his phony dance remember he was involved in 2 people's deaths. Or maybe the next time OJ says he is going to find the killer he is in the Hall Of Fame. Maybe one more DUI for Leonard Little and he might get suspended.

Leafs Improve Goaltending, Steve Simmons has a complex?

First of all having watched the majority of the Leafs game last year, any person who knows anything about hockey could tell you the #1 reason the Leafs did not make the playoffs was because of Andrew Raycroft. That's the simple truth. John Ferguson in my eyes made a nice move to address that need by acquiring Vesa Toskala from the San Jose Sharks, a goalie with a save percentage that is respectable in the NHL. Firstly Toskala is not the next coming of Johnny Bower, but the last time a team made a move for a Finnish backup off the Sharks his name was Kiprusoff. What did the Leafs give up, Lars Eller... well we will wait to see how he turns out.

Well Steve Simmons, who must have a deep seeded hatred of JFJ, comes out and says John Ferguson lacks credibility. Steve has not written an article in 3 years which does not take a joust at JFJ. Why is that Steve?, because you could do a better job?, maybe I would focus on the fact you come off a little comme-ci, comme-ca to me. You act like an arrogant know-it-all and what is your credibility? Weren't you the one who indicted Wayne Gretzky in the Rick Tocchet scandal? Your articles over the years have been increasingly bad, and tough to read. I would suggest instead of focusing all your thoughts on what JFJ eats, maybe spend a little more time trying to shake that Tourette's syndrome you show every Sunday on TSN's reporters. You shake and sweat more then John Daly on a golf course in Vancouver.

I just finished watching a period of the Sens-Ducks and had to put my TV on mute as the announcers, Bob Cole, Harry Neale, and Greg Millen were driving me to drink. Bob Cole made at least 20 mistakes in the period, with him saying the Ducks were offside in the neutral zone as the standout. It was a penalty on the Ducks for high sticking, and when the replay shows that the stick never made contact with the Sens player, which shows the refing is no better in the Stanley Cup final then it is all year, Harry Neale points out how foolish a penalty it is....What....If the Ducks player had made contact I would agree. Bob then goes on to credit Mike Comrie with the first goal, even after the replay clearly shows he didn't score. 10 minutes later he says "It looked like he touched it, He certainly tried" What the F%^&. He then says the Sens scores when the puck is in the corner of the rink. States the Ducks gave it away when actually the Sens carried it in, and shows all the excitement of someone meeting me the first time when he announces any Ducks shots. Let's not forget Harry Neales joke about a 'Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back"

As my articles have stated before, I am a die-hard Leafs fan, which in itself has caused many health issues. I hate everything about the Sens except for the fact I took a couple of players in my playoff pool. The Sens and there fans drive me nuts. Firstly what a shock at the amount of Sens fans that have come out of the woodwork. I mean wasn't it a year ago, Muckler should have been fired, Murray is a horrible coach, Alfredsson is a joke for letting Pominville get around him, and now all of a sudden these guys are the next coming of Christ. It is just like last year when everyone became an Oilers fan. It's ridiculous. Bandwagon jumping is just shameful. The arguement I am cheering for Ottawa because I want the Cup in Canada is about as assinine as it comes. Both teams have 14 Canadian players on there lineups. Plus having the Cup in Ottawa and having to watch a parade through Toronto's ugly cousin would just be too much for me to swallow.

Any person who considers himself or herself a Leaf fan should never cheer for the Senators. This is the team that pressures CBC to fire Don Cherry because he had a bias against the Sens. This is the team that tried to take money from the taxpayers so they could stay in Ottawa. This is the team that had to have a free Eagles concert to attract season ticket holders. This is the team that get smoked in the playoffs by the Leafs every time they play. Which brings me to the fact the Sens are still that team that has all the skill in the world, and is still the team that can get bullied. The Leafs didn't beat the Sens because they had more talent. They did it by smacking them in the face and watching the Sens disappear. So far the Sens have played the Pens, Devils, and Sabres and have looked incredible. What do the Pens, Devils, and Sabres have in common. They haven't hit anything in April and May.

The Ducks will hit the Sens and my prediction is the Sens will disappear quicker then a cold Blue on a hot summer day. Ducks in 5. I will celebrate with a nice Cuban, and some Johnny Walker "Blue" and watch all those so-called Sens fans bail off the wagon. Too see the Sens get so close and fail will warm my heart.

Why No Arrests?

This stuff drives me crazy. On Friday a protest was setup which blocked rail traffic from Toronto to Montreal causing havoc to both commuters and industry. This caused both economic and traveler pain. The cost of which I am not sure, however this was an ILLEGAL act. My question is Why was there no arrest? On Wednesday I was pulled over and given a speeding ticket for 70 km/h in a 60km/h which is a farce. The speed trap was in a 500 metre stretch on Durham road #5 which went from 80 to 60 back to 80. Of course this slow down section occured on a hill, and Mr. Safety was waiting for me at the bottom of the hill. I thought it was complete garbage however I did not block traffic going into the speed trap. But Let's imagine I did, what would be my fate? Well these protesters blocked a rail line, and what happens to them ..... Nothing. Why? Well it's obvious. There is a lack of leadership in both the provincial government and the OPP which are still feeling the effects of the Ipperwash incident. Now this Shawn Brant is talking of setting up other protests to disrupt the normal course of business in Ontario. This guy and every protester there should have been arrested. Shame on the OPP and the Provincial government who lack any leadership or foresight to prevent this. What were they protesting? The Thurlow quarry? Been there nothing to see. The government should act quicker on these land claims, however let's be honest on a couple of things. Firstly I know of many Aboriginal people who are 1/8th Native who get to go to school for free, etc, etc. And second most land issues in the 1800's did not have lawyers and were usually shook on and brandy was exchanged.

How do you settle them? I would imagine pulling of illegal acts isn't the best way.

Raycroft - Simply Not Good Enough

I have to admit I doubled over in laughter when reading the comments by Dave in my last rant. I will assume because I know Dave and he is a pretty sharp guy that he has not watched a lot of Leaf games this year, because if he has he would not have made the comments.

Again Mr. Raycroft fails to make a save and pulls the old hands up in the air after a wrist shot by Jason Blake from 50 ft beats him, with no screen, right after the Leafs pulled even and were starting to dominate the flow of the game. You may have seen previous examples of this rule when watching Sean Avery sail one over him last Sunday. Or perhaps the fantastic goal in the same game that was shot from the goaline that went up in the air hit him in the back and went in. Also love the Asham 45 ft blast from a bad angle that whisked by him for the Islanders 4th goal.

The simple point is Raycroft is not an NHL goalie. While my friend Dave wrongly thinks I am looking for a saviour, all I am looking for is a goalie who makes a save, that's it. You know a goalie that might once in a while make a nice save to perserve a win. One thing you can count on with Raycroft, is if the game is on the line, in a shootout or near the end of the game if the other team hits the net, It's in. Of course the Leafs might still make the playoffs, but it will be in spite of piss poor goaltending.

Dave also brought up in the Buffalo game how the floodgates opened and Buffalo had great chances, and of course scored on every single one. What Dave forgets to mention is that it was the AHL 2nd goal which deflated the team, or maybe Dave forgot to watch the 1st period when the Leafs outshot Buffalo 21-9 had 2 breakaways 10 great scoring chances, and scored 1 goal. Buffalo's defence was horrible for 2 periods but unlike the Leafs they actually have an NHL calibre goalie in the net to help them. See when opposition has 5 chances and scores on every single one, while Leafs have 10 chances and score on 1, doesn't that say something? Plus Dave did you see Buffalo leave Sundin alone beside Miller in the final seconds. What happened there? Oh that's right Miller made a huge save to perserve the win. Imagine that!!!

Couple of other stats to throw at the wall and lets see what sticks. 0.895 Save Percentage. I believe 50 other goalies have a better SP. How many teams are in the league again?

The Leafs have outshot there opponets in 56 of the 81 games this year. Only 25 times this year has an opponent outshot the Leafs, which leaves the Leafs one of the best teams in this category, however there Win Loss record does not reflect this, wonder why this is Dave?

Raycroft is 43rd in GAA, again see question above on how many teams there is.

Tim Thomas for the Bruins who I think it can be agreed is a joke as a goalie has faced 150 more shots then Raycroft however Raycroft has allowed 20 more goals then Thomas. Take a wild guess at which goalie has allowed the most goals this year?

Raycroft has the worst Save percentage in the league when it comes to the shootout.

If Raycroft made one Save against Buffalo, and stopped one shooout shot, the Leafs would be in the playoffs today. Again Dave not looking for a saviour, I guess I am just looking for something along the lines of better then Tim Thomas.

Leafs Playoff Run Fades Away

The 5-4 loss tonight to the Buffalo Sabres is a tough one to swallow. First off it pointed to the biggest factor in why the Leafs will not make the playoffs. Andrew Raycroft. Name one game the Leafs played in which they had the better goalie. Name one big save Raycroft has made to perserve a win. Problem is you can't. Again tonight the Leafs are the better team, just like in Montreal last Saturday, just like they have been in 70% of the games this year. I had one friend who told me the Leafs cheaped out in net with pay, but Halak for Montreal isn't making much and outplayed Raycroft, and by that reasoning Khabibulin should be leading the NHL.

Tonight Raycroft lets in an AHL goal for the 2nd goal, and then the flood gates open. I just pray Justin Pogge isn't a bust. Just a heartbreaker tonight, and if I am the coach or players, How do you trust a goalie who hasn't made a big save all year?

67 Leafs Honoured

In cleaning out my the digital camera, which is needed more an more everyday as Joyce and I capture as many images as possible of our Ainsley growing up, I just wanted to post a pic from the Edmonton-Toronto game we attended on Feb 17th. Seeing Dave Keon and the rest of the team honoured in a pre-game ceremony, I wondered if in my lifetime I will witness the Leafs win a Cup. Dave Keon was much smaller then I predicted and in typical Toronto fashion, the crowd reception was less then enthusiastic. Maybe if ticket prices were more reasonable, like in Buffalo, and Ottawa where Leaf fans can be heard, the ovation would have been better. Oh well it was still nice to be able to attend this game. This Friday I am seeing the Raptors, would not be surprised if crown noise is louder for them.

NHL Officiating

Just one question.... When will the NHL referee's be held accountable for their pathetic performance so far this year. I have not watched a game this year where I thought Heh that was a well refed game. After just witnessing Cam Janssen throw one of the cheapest shots I have seen on Tomas Kaberle which will probably end his season, the referee who was 5 feet away did not call a penalty. WHY????? and will he be held accountable. Let's not forget the disallowed goal on Sundin against Islanders and the high stick in front of the ref against Montreal. When will the refs be held accountable?

The worst game was a game between the Sabres and Leafs where the Sabres had 5 phantom call against them and the Leafs had 4. Why is this being ignored? It is simple awful and the NHL should be embarrased by it's officiating this year. New rules I like. Interpertation of the rules by referee's who don't have the skills I dislike.

Some Random Madness

As I enjoy my new life as a parent, I have not had much time to write as much as I would like. However over the last month I have collected some quotes, and articles that I find amusing, and would like to comment on.

1.) On this new so called in-fashion trend of the enviornment being the #1 concern for Canadians, which is an entire farce, (I will dedicate an entire blog to this BS) sadly a smiling Jack Layton had this to say about backing a Conservative budget.

Layton says Harper needs to demonstrate some humility and willingness to compromise - after all, he notes, 63 per cent of Canadians voted against the Conservatives in the last election and the NDP has already opposed Tory policy on Afghanistan, the federal budget and a softwood lumber deal with the United States.

- Hmmm you smiling fool, I wonder what the 89% of Canadians who didn't vote for you think about you pulling a power trip like this. Don't you have more important things to do, like protest Israel, wave a Hezbollah flag, or try to put a muzzle on that wife of yours?

2.) I think most polls are entirely useless and serve no purpose at all. However one poll which made me laugh was one done on What party should win the presidency in the States. the polls results are as follows;

The Decima survey this month of more than 1,000 Canadians found that 47 per cent wanted a Democrat to replace Bush in the White House in 2008, compared with just 12 per cent who wanted a Republican. Forty-two per cent didn't offer an opinion.
The Democratic preference in the survey was found in every region of the country. Albertans, along with self-idenfied Conservative voters, preferred a Democratic president replace Bush by a two-to-one margin.
Among possible Democratic nominees, former first lady Hillary Clinton was the most popular choice in the Decima survey, favoured by 31 per cent of respondents.

This poll proves that 42 percent of Canadians have a brain, while 58% are morons. Guess thats why people vote for Liberals or NDP. How the hell can you say one party should win now when first, You don't know the candidates, You don't know the platform, and you don't live in the country. All this shows is that most people get there views from the media (Big Brother). Pretty sad really. Of course Mrs. Clinton is the frontrunner in this poll. Hmmmm Can't control Billy but can control a country....Interesting.

3.) It seems new Liberal Leader Stephane Dion has set out on a quest to see how many blunders he can pull off in one year. I could go on about what a F'n hypocrite this joke is right now but I will save that for my enviornment blog. Firts lets visit this comment.

Liberal Leader Stephane Dion, meeting with his caucus in Quebec City, predicted an election will likely come this year and lamented Canadians have already "lost one year" during Harper's rule. He accused the Tories of resurrecting old Liberal programs and presenting them as their own.
"He is trying to fool the Canadian people and they will not be fooled by him," he said.

LOL, He has to be kidding right? I mean seriously. First of all this is the same party who bragged about balancing the budget on Conservative initiatives like GST, Free-Trade, right. Remember the Red Book and scrapping that crummy tax. One question. Name one policy the Conservatives have taken from the Liberals. If they took all there ideas why do they bash every initiative in the House Of Commons? I recall the Conservatives scrapping black holes like Kyoto, Government run Childcare, and the Kelowna Accord, and adding there own ideas. Stephane, Please think before you speak, or as your phrase it, Je must tink before I teak.

Dion told a Quebec newspaper that he has no objections to Marc-Yvan Cote, a former key party organizer in eastern Quebec, being allowed to resume his Liberal membership.
Cote was one of 10 members banned for life from the federal party by former prime minister Paul Martin in a bid to contain the political damage from the sponsorship scandal.
During the Gomery inquiry into the scandal, Cote testified that he received $120,000 in $100 bills from the executive director of the party’s Quebec wing. He distributed that money to 12 Liberal candidates in the 1997 federal election.
Dion also defended Jean Pelletier, former prime minister Jean Chretien’s chief of staff, saying he had served the country well for decades.
Pelletier was fired by Martin from his job as head of Via Rail. Justice John Gomery concluded that Pelletier was responsible for the sponsorship program, although he was never directly implicated in any wrongdoing.
Fellow Montrealer Marlene Jennings said the two men were presumed guilty and expelled without being given a chance to defend themselves.
“I think that Mr. Dion is right,” she said.
“There are people we would like to see back in the party,” she told reporters on her way into the second day of a Liberal caucus meeting.
Jennings said the “public notoriety” surrounding his testimony and expulsion from the party was punishment enough for Cote.
“He’s definitely paid for it.”

Do I really need to comment on this. I will tell you what Mr. Dion, bringing back people who stole Canadians money into the Liberal party is a big step into convincing Canadians that the Liberal Party has cleaned up the mess. And as for the "Paid for It" Comment, I might be alone but 1 year suspension with a big payout, and no jail time doesn't quite strike me as someone who has paid for it.

I think if Canadians knew this information they would be disgusted, however the problem is they would need to pay attention. Oh well.

Liberals version of change and other random thoughts

It's fantastic to see the Liberals (the self-called "Party Of Canada") have really stepped out on the ledge and definately changed their tune in selecting there new leader Stephane Dion. I mean have they ever had an old fart from Quebec who has trouble speaking English as their leader before? Let me see for the last what 30 years (minus John Turner, who the "little guy" from Shawinagan Jean Chretien screwed) the Leader of the Liberal party has been an old out of step guy from Quebec. Congrats, way to shake the foundations with this change. That stench of corruption in Quebec is supposedly gone right? LOL.

I wonder how the hussies who wrote the "Pink Book" (how original) Belinda Stronach, Judy Sgro, etc. are dealing with this new leader. As these jokes have decided to say the Conservatives would like to see women "Barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen" with there policies, how many women passed the 1st ballot ladies? LOL. By the way on the subject of the Pink Book, the ladies think that the elimination of the National Day Care system and giving women a choice means they will decide the barefoot and pregnant route. Good to see these ladies have such faith in Canadian women. They have done more damage then good by publishing the 14 pages of policy. (at what cost and time and all they came up with is 14 pages, maybe some slipped into Liberal friendly ad agencies, oops wrong subject). I think these ladies should get back to what there good at. Belinda go see how the Albanian Assasin is doing. Judy Sgro, get back to taking payouts to get Romanian strippers citizenship, like when you were the immigration minister.

A couple other things

Some ombudsmen thinks that prisoners deserve a raise in performing tasks in jail. Hmmm at $110,000 a year in cost to the taxpayers to keep these people who broke the law in jail, I think they are getting paid a pretty good salary myself. When left-wing pissants come up with ideas like this they should be fired on the spot.

Is hockey getting ridiculous in calls. I think the quality of officials is getting out of control. One game about 2 weeks ago saw some of the worst officiating I have seen. And from that point I have not seen a well refed game. Not good.

Why The CFL Can Not Be Taken Seriously

This past Sunday I picked up my brother-in-law (Dave) at the airport who was moving back to Ontario from Calgary where he has enjoyed the CFL. I have always been a NFL fan and from time to time would watch a CFL game. Anyways Dave convinced me to throw on the CFL game between the Argos and the Alouettes. The game was 23-3 Montreal, and shortly after turning it on the game went to 23-10. The Argos were then driving the ball again when I witnessed a play that the officials completely blew, and a prime example why the CFL is a disaster. Ricky Williams was handed the ball ran up the middle and was tackled, the ball came loose, and the whistles were blown. All players on the field quit. One Montreal player picked up the ball. An Argo afterward took the ball from this player and started running to the endzone while whistles blew and the refs stopped the play. The play was called ruled down by contact. Fair enough. Then the Alouette coach threw in a challenge flag. I asked Dave what the hell was going on, How do you challenge a play that was blown dead before anyone picked up a possible fumble? He, like myself did not understand what was going on. Anyways after watching the replay you could see that Williams did in fact lose the ball before he hit the ground. However last time I played or watched a sport the whistle being blown means end of play, and since the whistle was blown before anyone picked up the ball, How the hell could you rule it a fumble.

Sure enough I forgot that this was the CFL, where the officials get paid less then the "Beer Man", and the official came on the field and said fumble, Montreal's ball. How in the F*^% does that happen? This moron apparently has enough ESP to predict that Montreal would have recovered the ball if he didn't blow the play dead. And if this moron ref actually continued to watch the play he should have rewarded the Argos with a TD because the Montreal player who picked up the ball did not take a knee or was tackled. In fact the Argo player stripped him and started running down the field. This is a call made in a Conference Final? LOL? What a bushleague call, and for that matter what a horrible league, to employ such jackasses. Not to mention later missed plays. One in front of the ref where an obvious facemasked was ignored, and one play where the Argo receiver was 3 yards offisde and no flag. The commentators for that game were also unlistenable.

So I was thinking for sure that this call would be brought up and discussed through the week, and it really wasn't. Unbelievable! I guess the CFL fans expect the game to be a travesty before watching it, or just expect this shit. As for me I will keep watching the real football league.....NFL.

On another note, How much will Belinda Stronach keep milking this dog/bone/whore stuff. I mean she thinks because one person made a comment she was a dog, that it applied to all women. Hmmmmm! If I call another man an idiot, does that mean I think all men are idiots? Guess what Belinda some women like you our whores, and most women are not. There you go. Stop putting your pathetic face on TV and crapping out your intials (BS). By the way if Conservatives views of women are so archaeic like you claim. The arrival of Ainsley Maryanne Sandison

On Oct 15th at 12:11 am my wife gave birth to a baby girl. She weighed 7lbs 7 ozs. She is beautiful. My wife Joyce and Ainsley are doing well. Joyce was a real trooper as it was a long labour. I felt a bit helpless although I tried to do the best I could at supporting her. I also had help from her sister and father which meant a lot. Over the last 2 weeks my parents came down and helped out immensely.

Tie Domi and Belinda Stronach

I will start off with my bias, and lay it on the table. I dislike Tie Domi. Tie Domi spelled differently is "Me Idiot" which leads to the story of his divorce proceedings and his apparent association with Belinda Stronach. I have disliked Tie ever since he joined the Leafs for the 2nd time when he was traded along with another joke Kris King (has a job measuring goalie pads...LOL) from Winnipeg. Tie Domi was a NHL player who used the PR department and Leafs Nation to carve out a career where a guy who averaged 7 goals a year gets a million dollar career. He is not a good NHL player, never was. He was a smaller guy with an iron head who could take some punches and throw some, Great! In the NHL thats a dime a dozen. Somehow though with a PR department that included Don Cherry he created this image that he was a major piece of the Maple Leafs. I will agree he was a major piece in Leaf history when he elbowed Scott Niedermayer and cost the Leafs a playoff run, or when he would facewash opponents for whatever reason and take costly penalties. I enjoy NHL fighting, but I like it as a part of the game, meaning Player X does something to Player Y, and Y stands up for himself, or another player to protect him from cheapshots. But as for Tie he would treat it like Boxing, and prearrange the fights, see Domi-Probert, and made it a circus. That is not hockey, and for all extents as a die hard Leaf fan I will say Tie Domi was not a good NHL player, he was a 4th liner at best who got paid as a 2nd liner, because he marketed himself properly not because he was any good at the game.

So I had a smile on my face when I saw the newspaper that Tie was accused of cheating on his wife with Belinda Stronach. Now I understand that Tie is not the first or last husband to be accused of this. I also understand that his wife will be getting a boatload of money she does not deserve, as I am sure without Tie she would not make $33,000 a month by herself. She was just able to have 3 kids and that meant motherload. However in this case Me Idiot and his PR machine might be reeling a bit. How do we spin this to make it loook like all Leaf Nation supports us. Maybe Don Cherry can do a plug for us. Maybe Glenn Healy, I am not sure. I actually hope he gets taken to the cleaners. The fact that TSN hired him, means that Sportsnet will get more viewing time from me as when Tie or Healy go on, I switch off. Maybe he can get another $25,000 gift from his brother Dash which wasn't a bribe, who knows.

As for Belinda Stronach, I laugh even louder. I remember reading a while ago when Belinda left Peter McKay, and joined the Liberal Cabinet that she did that because she couldn't morally be part of the Conservative party. She would not go against her morals I kept reading. Then when people bashed her for being a political tramp, feminists and her supporters woluld say that calling her a tramp is chauvinist and if a man did it he would not be called the same.

Lets first start with the morals. What morals of hers was she protecting? Was it the one where she belives it is OK to open her legs up to a married man. Was it the morals that I should not be with a man that looks like a troll with unibrow to boot. I mean I agree Belinda you need to protect those morals, as you are such a moral person. Quite a role model to be sure. Maybe while Tie was working on your campaign he signed some autographs for fans and supported you or threatened or whatever it is Tie is good for.

Second as for people getting upset that some refer to her as a bit of a how do you say it slut. 2 marriages, Peter McKay left to tend to his potato farm after being ditched for the Liberal Cabinet, close freind of Bill Clinton, and now with a married Tie Domi, I am sure we can all agree she is not a nun. You know the saying, if it looks like a skunk, smells like a skunk, well It's a skunk.

I always wondered why Belinda did not run for the Liberal leadership like she did for the Conservative leadership. I guess that was answered for me. Tough to answer the debate question. Belinda, is it true that you seriously were with Tie Domi, I mean seriously? Have you seen Tie, have you looked in a mirror? I mean come on.

More Reasons To Dislike Sid Ryan

I have to tell you as you might be aware I believe unions are a thing of the past and have a negative impact on growth of the manufacturing sector in Canada. I find it amazing that a person works in Canada for $25/hour and is performed more professionaly by a person in U.S.A for $14/hour and in Mexico for $5/hour, and we wonder why plants close and move. There is a joke where a guy goes into a gentlemen's club and asks if the strippers are unionized, he keeps looking until he finds a club that is, and finds a beautiful blond with a great body. He asks the owner for a lap dance. The owner says no and points to an 80 year old with no teeth, and states sorry we go by seniority here.

Anyways for people who don't know Sid Ryan is the leader of C.U.P.E which represents most government workers like teachers etc. It seems like government is the only place where unions can really sink there teeth into as for the most part government is so mismanaged the union can reap the benefits off taxpayers backs. Oh well, that is not why I am writing this.

I read earlier in the week that Sid Ryan is taking legal action against his Conservative opponent in Oshawa Colin Carrie for a pamphlet that was released that in a backhanded way accused Sid Ryan of being friendly with Sinn Fein, the political part of the IRA in Northern Ireland. Let's start with Sid Ryan's political career. he runs every year starting in Scarborough and moving his way to the heavily unionized city of Oshawa and on the way he continues to lose, and even turned the Ed Broadbent region into 2 Conservative wins. I mean he probably should get the hint that he is a "Loser". He is in an area where the NDP have done well, and by him running all of a sudden the region goes the opposite way. I wonder why, maybe because he is such a jackass even left leaning people can't stomach his bullshit.

Let's disregard my personal bias against this joke, Let's look at what I would be thinking if I was a member of C.U.P.E. Firstly the head of my union is trying to get another job and failing. Yet when he loses back he goes into being by Leader. So I have a Loser for a Leader that people do not respect. Yep the kinda guy I want negotiating for me alright. Secondly and most importantly, Let's say Sid has a case in the pamphlet. OK. That has nothing to do with union business. Agreed. Sid independently ran for an MP position and failed. He did this off of company business. So why in the F%^$ are his legal fees in this fight being paid by C.U.P.E. If I was a member (granted most are sheep) I would flip my lid. Why the hell do I go to work and work hard (granted thats laughable but it's all in the definition of what hard work means to you) so that Sid Ryan can fight a legal battle that has nothing to do with me, my union, or his representation. When he ran for the MP position he was not an active member of C.U.P.E, so why does he expect people to pay his battles for him? I have a guess. He is a thug, who tries to bully everyone with his Irish accent trying to sound smart when we know he is a moron.

You know I feel sorry for people who are forced into unions when that is the only way into what they want to do for a living. But I guess I don't feel sorry now if this kinda bullshit happens. Everyone in C.U.P.E, take your cheque and look for the union fees deductions, and realize that is going to your leader to fight a battle that has nothing to do with you. Fell all warm and fuzzy inside. I bet you do, want to know why, look in the mirror, looking back is a blind sheep allowing this joke to be your leader.

(Un) Entertainment Tonight

I had an idea once (surprising I know) to have a show called Un-Entertainment Tonight (Un-entertainment tonight is one of many Billisms) and basically replay the show with my thoughts and burn the hell out of the show. Let me start off with saying I hate these shows with such passion and vigor. I think it is awful that people give a flying F to care what entertainers do in there off-time. Shows like Entertainment Tonight, Extra, and the like are just plain ridiculous in my opinion. But just like my sister showed in my last point I am not in the cool club.

Why do I care that Britney Spears is having a kid? Why do I care what Richard Gere thinks? Why do I care that Tom Cruise is a scientologist? The fact is I don't, and I can't see why anyone else would either. My life is pretty full already without concerning myself that Mel Gibson says "Jews start all wars". I don't know Mel, so what if he gets arrested and says shit when he is drunk? I have called an ex-girlfriend, or female friend a couple of times at 3am after having one too many pops, and said some crap I didn't mean. Who cares?

My idea would consist of me playing clips of the previous nights Entertainment Tonight Show and pointing out the Bullshit that they spew. I mean what the hell do I care that Suzanne Sommers makes up some molesting story, or some childstar whines and makes excuses for why he is an idiot. I think it is a good idea for a show, however I probably am the only one.

In my life, as I am about to welcome my first "Chicklet" (Don't worry it only gets half my DNA, the other half is my wife Joyce, so that should balance the kid out) I find my focus in life narrowing to what is really important. The priorities are my family and friends, and a little to the Maple Leafs (my crux). I don't care what actors do in there personal lives. I could care less.

Maybe again it is the uncool (another Billism) to not like the gossip shows.

By the way I am loving the "Ali G Show". That guy is great.

Well sadly I decided to read the Toronto newspapers online today and ran into an article that reved me up for whatever reason.

As I read this article all I can do is laugh. Let me state that I have no issue whatsoever in someone having the right to speak whatever they want, no matter how stupid. Having free speech is something that free countries should treasure. Free speech doesn't always mean that someone smart will say something, it also allows morons, and hypocrites the same rights as intelligent sane people. However that is a free society. But again it gives me the right to make fun of them.

So as I see people demonstrate against Isreal in a supposed "Peace rally" I could not overlook the irony of what was taking place. First I am not sure that at a "Peace rally" I would see a countries flag burned. I am not sure what the peaceful message was in that, however I digress.

I also laughed to see that NDP officials were at a "Peace rally" that was chanting for a terrorist organization Hezbollah. I guess since the NDP have no chance ever to lead this country maybe there philospohy is now to start supporting terrorists and get the Islamic vote. Maybe someone forgot to tell the NDP this was not a rally for the homeless, Oh well, An interesting strategy to say the least.

I also started to think, that these people that support Hezbollah from an ocean away (I might add how courageous that is), just maybe don't appreciate what it is like to be Canadian. I mean I am sure if I went to Lebanon and held a Christian "Peace Rally" I am sure that I would be treated the same as they were in Canada yesterday. I can think of nothing bad that would happen to me if I burnt a Muslims countries flag in Lebanon, Can you? Maybe these people who support Hezbollah should instead thank God (Allah, or that elephant, whatever you believe) that they live in this country, and support the country that allows them to put on such idiotic protests and doesn't arrest you for burning flags. Maybe it is just me.

I wonder what would have happened if some Isreal Canadians showed up at the Lebanon embassy and started protesting against sick people that believe there cause would be furthered by blowing themselves up and some innocent civilians. Imagine if they burned the Lebanese flag, I wonder what they would be called, Hmmmm, I am sure no response would come from Muslim organizations in Canada. Ooops wouldn't that be free speech too? I am sure we would hear that they are racist against the Islam religion right? Kinda would show the hypocrisy of free speech eh?

By the way watch CBC or CNN news and count the time focused on deaths in Lebanon and then how much time they spend on the Isreali deaths. I think it is very fair and unbiased. LOL. I see how upset Canadians (including myself) are that 26 Canadians have been killed in Afghanistan since 2002. Well I would ask those people to count how many Isrealis were killed in attacks from organizations like Hezboallah.

On another note I don't know what I missed but somehow it became the coolest thing to wear these bracelets that support causes such as cancer, and feed the world and the such. They cost what $2 and do what? The money goes to feeding a kid in Africa, while you get to show everyone how cool you are that you want to save the world. Well I am sure that kid who got your $2 thanks you that he can after the government eats 75% can take that 50 cents to get some rice. This liberal view that everyone needs to be saved seems to be the rage now. Well I have an idea for a bracelet. It would be black with a white splash on it. I will let you guess what it would support. It means the same as those other damn bracelets. Nothing. But I understand if it is cool to wear those bracelets and save the world kinda stuff. Anyone who knows me knows that I have been on the outskirts of cool my whole life.

Hola, Lately as one of the only English channels I get in Mexico is CNN, I have been watching the escalating tensions in the Middle East. Now I have no idea what living in the Middle East is like, and frankly I don't want too. I can't imagine sitting on a bus with the realization that there may be some brainwashed youth ready to blow himself and the whole bus up. Or living in a country where the government can do nothing but watch idely as a terroist group takes over and holds a country hostage to there BS ideological views, of soemthing like what 70 virgins when you die? Growing up in Canada I have been lucky to live under a true democracy, which has protected me (thanks to soldiers in WW1 and WW2) from ever having to live in constant fear. I think every Canadian citizen should be thankful they live in Canada (even under Liberal rule, as scarier as that is to say).

However I read some columns and listen to bastards like Bob "I F'ed Ontario" Rae, and Bill "Cocky MF'er" Graham talk about how Canada has botched this crisis in Lebanon, and not done enough to evacuate Canadians from Lebanon, and call on Israel to ceasfire. While I agree everything should be done to get Canadians out of the region I fail to see how easy it would be to move 50,000 people out of a region. I am sure the ditherer Paul Martin would have done better...LOL. However here are some of the quotes from some Lebanese or Muslim Canadians on how grateful they are to live in this nation

1. "I love my country, I will always go back there, but I'm glad I'm home," she said.
Hmmm, intersting isn't your Country your f'n home!!!!!!!! Oh I see when it is is her best interest she is a Canadian otherwise she is Lebanese. Of course the Lebanon government has done so much to protect her.

2. "We Canadians who believe in our ethical and humanitarian role in the world will not forget his pathetic and inadequate response," she said.
Wow if that isn't happiness that taxpayers paid her way back to Canada I don't know what is!. I suggest we drop her dumb ass back in Lebanon because obviously there country treats her better then Canada.

3. "Stephen Harper shame on you, Arab lives have value too," marchers shouted.
Well that is unless you blow yourself up to take out a couple of Jews....right?

4. Ausma Malik, a University of Toronto student, called Israel's actions "state-sanctioned murder." LOL... that's great but what do you call it when a terroist organization blows up Innocent jews...LOL I imagine by dumb ass friend Malik would have a different prospective then.

5. "Today we unite as people of conscience . . . as people who will not be silent while a nation is torn to shreds, while innocent civilians are killed in the clear light of day," she told a crowd assembled outside the U.S. Consulate.
Hmm innocent civilans, who let a terroist organization hold your country hostage. I have another word for it. Gullible, and Brainwashed innocents comes to mind.

Now we get to the good quotes people who obviously haven't got to that cause and effect analysis of life. Here's a quote from someone who arrived in Toronto after fleeing like a chickenshit from the area, again thanks to taxpayers money. This Canadian by convienence says.

6. We are all with the leader of Hezbollah," said Hammoud. "God bless him and we are praying for him to defend us, and defend our children."
Yeah he's with them alright just as long as he can hideout in Canada! If your with them you f'n asshole go join them and fight instead of sitting here in Canada living of our bogus social systems.

And now my personal favourite .... apparently they held a "Peace rally" and this is what happened

7. Please for peace at the rally were offset by cheers and jubilation at word of a Hezbollah claim that 22 Israeli soldiers had have been killed during a limited drive into southern Lebanon.

LOL ... What a "Peace" rally. Am I the only one who see's through this BS. I see peace is cool as long as Muslims don't die, but if Isreali's dies well I guess that is peace too.. Is that what they teach in the Muslim religion.

Firstly where I find it is the "Norm" to blame everything on Israel and the States, the simple issue is this. Cause and Effect.

Effect.... I am tired in the morning and asked Why? Well I went o bed at 3am. That's where it seems the Middle East takes there analysis too. No one seems to ask why I went to bed at 3am. The reason is....My favorite movie came on and I couldn't stop watching it. So the reason I was tired is not because I went to bed at 3am, it's because I did not have the discipline to turn off the movie.

Let's apply the same analysis to why 8 Lebanese Canadians died.

1. They were hit by a missle fired by Israel. This is where most of the Muslim culture likes to cut off the analysis.

2. Israel fired because a terroist organization in Lebanon captured and killed Israeli soldiers. Hmmm

And in both analysis you could go further and find out why I had no discipline to stop watching the movie or in the death case the why could go back to end of WW II. The point is you should be happy that you live in Canada and stop bashing the government and taxpayers who paid your way out of Lebanon.

I wish more governments in the West would put more money into science and technology to develop an alternate source for fuel other then oil, instead of discovering a new way to have a man get erect. That would end the involvement of the world in a religious debate in the Middle East. Maybe just me...

Political correctness like having to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" and not really looking deeper into problems are a slippery slope into losing democracy in my biased view. I don't know about everyone else but I am glad to be a Canadian, and do not appreciate when people who come into this country take it for granted.

CSNY concert and other things

On July 10th, thanks to my parents I was able to see Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young at ACC. I went with my parents and my brother-in-law Darin. I have attended many concerts but this one ranks up with the best concerts I have been too. If I had to rank concerts as best I have been too, the CSNY ranks 3rd behind any U2 concert, and my first Tragically Hip concert. I might be one of the younger CSNY fans but I must admit that even though the entire group is in there 60's they sounded incredible. I grew up on CSNY as my dad listened to them. I can remember many road trips when I was young and CSNY would be on the tape deck. Considering the crap that they call music now, with BS R&B or rap and bands named Chamelionaire, and jokes like Coldplay/and whatever American Idol they have trying to play music it was refreshing to see 4 good guitar players play a 3 hour concert with one 20 minute break. There was no opening band, and the pot smell was flowing by 7:30pm in the ACC and CSNY took the stage and on there first half where they played a lot of there own stuff plus some of Neil Young's new album, which I do like a lot if you can ignore the political slant of his album. The songs are good.

The second half started with an acoustical sound which actually didn't disappoint. One song by Crosby was dull, but then he made up for it with his next acoustic song. When Neil did "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" I was amazed and it only continued. Stephen Stills and David Crosby looked disturbing physically however Crosby's voice and Stills guitar skills were still there. Graham Nash also sounded fantastic. One thing that was apparent though was that Neil Young was the Whole Show. Whether they were jamming at the end of a song, or Neil was playing harmonica, Neil was the centerpiece to the concert. I think Neil Young is one of the best musicians ever, and it showed he is damn good live too.

The only complaint I have is they didn't play "American Dream". Plus I also was able to tune out the political parts which made the concert more enjoyable. I also didn't expect them playing Neil Young's "Keep On Rockin In The Free World", but oh man did it rock. One of the highlights for sure. Just great. I heard that Stills fell on the Tuesday concert during this song, and that would have been tough to watch, as it would have taken him like 30 seconds to tip. Something like the fall my friend Kim took one time, but that's another story.

Other Highlights were Stills/Young acoustic version of "Treetop Pilot":, Graham Nash's "Our House" and "Milky Way tonight", plus "Ohio".

Again thanks Mom and Dad for the tickets!!

On another note I want to congratulate my buddy Brian and his wife Kim (the faller) on the birth of their first child Isabella (Izzy B) Whiten. I was lucky when I was home to see her and thank god she got her looks from Kim..... Just joking. Congrats.

Mexico - What I Like, and Don't Like

I thought I would do a little post on the things I like and don't like about Mexico having now been here for the better part of 3 months.

Top 3

Likes

1. The view while driving to and from work in Queretaro. The view is simply put amazing. Having only been on the coast while being in Mexico before this trip, I never realized that Mexico was home to some of the most beautiful mountain scenery I have ever seen. I drive too and from work and the view calms me down. If i could attach pictures I would. I was able to go to Bernal with my wife last week and the place other then one of my dislikes was amazing. I have also been able to visit San Miguel Allende and believe it or not they speak more English then Spanish. I also have visited Tequisqupan. Another fantastic scenic drive.

2. The culture is very laid back and very friendly. I was a little dumbfounded once when while sitting at a restaurant I saw a man go up to another man and give him a hug and a kiss. They were with other women who looked like there wives however the culture is very touch feely unlike Canada. I thought I was caught in the Gay Pride parade until I realized this was normal greetings for a man to another man.

3. The churches and history of Queretaro are beautiful. It has been told to me that this city was the point where Mexico declared independence from Spain. They have an aquaduct that spans half the city where water was delivered to a church to help the people of Querertaro get water while with war with the Spanish. Apparently the Correigodora which is the street my hotel is on ran from Mexico City to tell everyone that the Spanish were coming to kill the people who were starting the independence movement. This allowed Mexico to declare independence before they were taken out. Anyways all the churches I have visited were made in the 18th and 19th century and are by far the most beautiful churches I have been in. Granted I don't attend church very often. On Sundays here there is mass, and if you feel like it you can go in and attend mass, and get this no collection plate.

Dislikes

1. DRIVING with a godamn capital D. The fact that I have survived 3 months without an accident in Mexico should qualify me to be exempt from ever paying insurance. It is crazy. Roundabouts with no stop signs. Anywhere you are, you can pull a "U". Basically there are no rules to the road. Unlike Canada the pedestrians do not have the right away. Cars go and will not stop for anything. The highway I take to work which has a speed minimum of 100 km/h has people crossing the road, with animals, so you have to break hard to miss them. Buses and trucks swerve all over the place. The downtowns of every city are brick roads with speed bumps the size of a large dog, with no warning there coming up. It's crazy. The other day there was an accident in the southbound lanes which sent 2*4's across the entire northbound lanes. Instead of people going to the shoulder. Theys stopped and started loading up there cars with the wood. No one was even there checking to ensure the driver was alright. It is common place to see sheep and cows sitting on the side of the road with no rope. Very scary.

2. There is the rich and then there is the poor. You think Toronto is bad for begging come to Mexico. When I get to my car in the morning, I am directed out by a person who expects a tip. For what? Showing me how to back out. I am pretty sure I have done it before. Everywhere you park someone will find your car and wait for you to leave to direct you out for a tip. In patio restaurants, little 4 and 5 year olds come up in the restaurant and beg while there mother stands and waits. It's very uncomfortable and to be honest sick. Every traffic light has a dude trying to sell you a piece of paper he made to shield the sun, or a chocolate bar.

3. The sewer system was designed by a bunch of mental midgets. If it rains here, and when it does you get alot, the roads will flood, because they have no sewers on the roads. Being in the mountains the roads are hilly, and the water will collect at the bottom of the hill. This creates some fun as hydroplane is the operative word. And where there are sewers it stinks to high heaven.

Anyways there is my likes and dislikes. I also dislike that I had no idea some of the hockey stuff that happened. Neil Smith and Ted Nolan now on NYI. Tanguay was traded to Calgary. Leafs got Raycroft. I am usually always behind on my sports news. Oh how I miss TSN, and Sportsnet. I can't handle another damn soccer (football) high(low)light.

Haven't Posted In a While - Well here it goes

As I sit in my Mexican hotel I decided it had been a while since I posted and having looked at some papers over the weekend, I've got some things to discuss (rant, whatever you call it).

1. If reports are right my opinion on JFJ just took a nosedive quicker then the career of Hanson. If Bryan McCabe was signed for about 6 million a year JFJ deserves the award for moron of the year. 5 more years of watching the Scarecrow will not ease my increasing blood pressure problem. I predict in 5 years my hair will be as gray as that joke Taylor Hicks ;Soul Patrol so gay, good luck on that career...LOL (yes I know a little gay to watch American Idol, no arguement here). I did like the Kaberle signing because he has skills and a brain. Bryan has skills, or at least one, a slaphot. WooHoo. The problem is he has the menatlity of that Corky kid from Life Goes On (I know gay again). Terrible signing and looks like JFJ has a lot of work to do to get back in my graces (like he cares).

2. I love the fact that after 17 people were arrested for planning a terror attack in Ontario, the relatives and everyone who knows them were SHOCKED and expressed they weren't terrorists and all were Hall Of Fame kinda guys. They should stop interviewing relatives after arrests because what are they going to say? Guy was an ahole...LOL By the way when 3 tonnes of fertilizer are found with weapons and a cellphone attached to a dentinator, my guess is that they are not starting a landscaping business. I had one moron tell me we should deport them? After wondering why some people on this planet have no brains, as if we deport them they will just come back in with our lax immigration laws, I think what should happen is all 17 guys if found guilty, should be brought to some remote place in Yukon, put in a shed load all the fertilizer in with them, and make that remote call. Man I got to tell you I really despise the former justice minister as you might know from some of my earlier rants. This guy put the "Left" in left wing. I will personally tell you that the Conservatives did not go far enough in tax breaks in my opinion. I believe in less government in general. I am very pleased the Conservative scrapped the Aboriginal Black Hole deal, and the universal "I know what's best for your kid" garbage which was basically giving the provinces a chunk of money and saying Heh there's Daycare. Let's also get past the fact the Liberals had 13 years to do it and now bitch. I believe people should not be told how to spend there money. Anyways the Conservatives also promised to get tough on crime with minimum sentences, which in the short term would mean more of the "Bad guys" in jail where they belong. Well Irwin the Idiot doesn't agree and argues with this piece of diarhea of the mouth.

The real reason there is more crime is due to
A) Lax immigration laws, that allow someone from a country as an example Jamacia to file bogus refugee claims, and then bring the whole family with them.
B) Allowing people with no maturity level whatsoever to crap out kids at a staggering pace when they don't have the means or the will to take care of them, but boy do they like the extra money from the government though.
C) A society that tries to prop up and support all kinds of rejects who make bad decisions and are not punished but rewarded for making them.

In my world, which is not a sane one, I would reduce taxes and the only social programs I would keep are health care (although I would allow privatization in specialized health care) and I would make it free for universities, trade schools, colleges etc. However no welfare, subsidized housing etc. If you can't go to a free school and make something or get a job, too bad, so sad.

P.S I would also look after disabled persons, I mean I'm not that bad of a guy eh!

Well it's been a few days since "The Phat One" Pat Quinn was relieved of all his duties with the business known as MLSE. I have been shocked at the negative responses to this firing coming from Leaf Nation, and the replies from media heads who have been calling for Quinn's head before. I wonder if Steve Simmons from the Toronto Sun knows what he thinks day to day, as is opinions is always changing. He know thinks Pat Quinn was the second coming an JFJ is a moron. Anyways enough of that disgrace or as I aptly refer to him as Steve Strachan.

Pat Quinn, in my opinion was a coach who should have been relieved a long time ago. Did he have success in Toronto...yes, was he a welcome change in 1998...yes, did he do some good things...yes. However did any player improve under Pat Quinn...No, did they have a gameplan.....No, did he once have to go a player short in a playoff game because he couldn't remember Robert Reichel was on his team....Yes. In short Pat Quinn was made to look good by one position on the team and that was goaltending. He didn't have it this year so as like in most of the games he coached when the Leafs were outshot, like they have been since he took over, the goalie position couldn't cover up for his weakness as a coach.

So some in Leaf Nation will blame JFJ for not outfitting the Leafs with the necessary talent, Hmmm I might be out of my mind here, but has JFJ only been on for 2 years, made the scouting department much better with additions like Craig Button, improved the minors by signing Paul Maurice, which has now benifitted in get this....improving young players. And just so I am not mistaken who was the guy in charge before JFJ who only signed FA that were at the end of there careers, gave up on young guys (Steve Sullivan, Jason Smith, Alyn McCauley, Brad Boyes, Fredrick Modin, Danny Markov,) and made such dandy trades that brought in gems like Dmitri Khristich, Robert Reichel, Robert Svelha, Cory Cross, Mikeal Renberg, Jonas Hoglund, Wade Belak, Aki Berg, etc. Could that have been the Phat One? Oh yeah it was. The mighty man who everyone in Leaf Nation and the media thinks is a genius. Isn't this the guy who strapped the organization finacially by paying Mats Sundin more then his worth? Hmm who has the worst track record as a Leafs GM? So when JFJ takes over in the post cap era, who do you think prevented him from buying out players, like McCabe, Belfour, and forcing him to bring back a useless Tie Domi? It was upper management in MLSE. Should I blame JFJ that his hands are tied by the Teachers Pension fund, and some board at MLSE who thinks that a guy who designed Hostess Twinkie packages Richard Peddie, has the wherewithal to run a hockey and basketball operation? Now don't get me wrong here, the book is still out on JFJ, however I feel that he deserves a shot to continue his youth movement and lets see what we get.

Now more importantly let's look at Pat Quinn the coach. Anyone in the world who even understood the remote concept of hockey, could watch one game and realize that Jason Allison could not play in the "New" NHL. Was it a bad signing by JFJ...yes, but lets also remember him being strapped finacially so he took a chance on a base salary with incentives. But the coach does not have to play him the most minutes of any player, that's not a GM decision that's a coaches. Pat Quinn kept sending this god damn stiff on the ice all the time even in Penalty Killing roles....What? The guy is slower then the brain functions of Muhammad Ali. He then takes a promising rookie Centre in Matt Stajan, shifts him to wing, and introduces him to his new linemates.....Tie Domi, and Clarke Wilm.....gives him 7 minutes of ice time, and says Go get them big fella. Let's look at New Jersey who has what people consider a very shrewd GM. He signs Alex Mogilny and Dan Mcgillis for big bucks, and when he finds out they can't play, allows the coach to send him to the minors. Pat Quinn takes this player and gives him the most minutes? Does anyone know that with Allison out of the lineup the Leafs were 9 games over 500? And the reason he was out of the lineup had nothing to do with Quinn realizing the guy stinks, It's due to injuries. He also brings up rookie Dman who look good, and then says wait a minute, I think Wade Belak and Aki Berg are still serviceable...LOL, I mean thats ridiculous. Quinn did this with Alyn McCauley, when he gives bums like Shayne Corson, Robert Reichel, etc. more playing time, and better wingers, and saddles McCauley with Domi, and Gary Valk. It's dumb. Now lets look at the biggest series of the season in Montreal. The Leafs come out in the Thursday game with some spunk, then a horrible giveaway by Luke Richardson allows the Mtl forwards a 2-1 where Aki Berg goes down faster then a crack whore in the Jane and Finch area for $5, It's now a 2-0 and Montreal scores to make it 1-0. So just to make sure everyone understands both D-man made bonehead plays to allow Montreal the goal. It's 1-0 with 12 minutes to play in 1st period, you had played well up until that point. What would you do with the defensive pair after totally blowing a play? I would think 99.99999999% of coaches would probably change the D-Line up to allow them time to regain composure, and start fresh. What does the Phat Man do, Leaves them on. 12 seconds later, Aki Berg and Luke Richardson chasing the same man behind the net, pass out front and it's now 2-0, and see ya later playoffs. The move not to change the defensive pair is bush league brutal and undefensible. When your that out of the game, I am sorry but you should be fired.

Now lets look at the good run at the end, that all fans in Leaf Nation say was a reason why Pat Quinn should not have been fired. Lets look at who got hurt, bums like Allison, Ed Belfour and Alex Khavanov, etc. which then provided time and spaces for youngsters like Matt Stajan, Ian White and Kyle Wellwood. I will ask this; If Allison and and Khavanov were not hurt would they have been playing?....Of course they would, so it was by injuries, not good coaching that the Leafs benifetted, which should say all you should now about the Leafs coach. Good riddance Phat fan.

Now for my not so PC statement. I think I will rant on the Caledonia situation later but for now I would like to say that it's great to see the great people of the Tyendinaga reserve where I used to live near take the time out of there stressful days of sniffing gas, smuggling cigarettes and alcohol, and getting loaded on the taxpayers bill to block the CN railway and prevent hardworking ordinary people the ability to travel by train, so you can protest a land agreement deal made in 1846. Way to go, my hats off to you fine people. Makes you look like the ingrates you are.

Well I find myself in Mexico and I decided to do a bit of a rant. Lately I have been a happy camper due to some good news, however as I try to maintain my positive frame of mind there are some things that just rile me up enough to rant;

1. I read an article about a week ago where a 27 yr old single mother was upset that in the Liberal new budget for Ontario that Welfare rates were ONLY going up 2.4%. Are you god damn kidding me. I would ask everyone out there who works and doesn't sit on there keester all day what your raise was for last year, I would think some higher and maybe some lower, but guess what, you go out and bust your tail and earn a living. This bitch who's only relevant detail in life was that she opened up her legs when she was 19 is ticked that by doing nothing all day she only gets a 2.4% raise. Am I crazy? Of course in her mind it is the government/system/parents/TV/radio...etc fault that she is in this predicament now. Well here's a clue bitch It's your god damn fault. The taxpayers that fund your ridiculous lifestyle and who will have to pay more tax for your RAISE did not make the decisions you made....YOU DID. The only one you have to blame is yourself, and personally you should be glad its people with a socialist point of view in power who let you live the lifestyle (I am assuming you still find the money to have a couple of POPS every Saturday night and look for Mr. Right) that you have. If anyone in my ilk was in power I force you to work or cut your benefits. I would assure every dime went to the necessities and not a penny went into lifestyle.

2. My wife likes to read People magazine. She enjoys it however one night I entered into our facilities and the magazine was laying on the table. The title of the cover was How Was Jennifer Anniston Coping. LOL. Give me a f'n break, who the hell cares how the hell she is coping, why does anyone in the world care what happens in the Life of an actress from one of the worst shows in history Friends. I don't understand why people would enjoy this. I mean it isn't the first time in history a man has left his wife for a much better looking, much more sexual, and a filthier girl before. Hell on the street you are living on right now it is probably happening, but they don't write articles about that. I would think with what 50 million it might be easier to cope, maybe just me. I would rant more but I will save my Entertainment Tonight Rant and Ideas for a later date.

I just perked up "The Old and Mighty Phat One" Mr. Pat Quinn was fired along with Rick "Phat Quinn's personal a-kisser" Ley. This has made me happy. I will comment on this after I read the articles on his demise tomorrow.

Smoking, Traffic Cops, and Leafs

Well I would like to say I am very happy that I have 2 fans. This is great!

About 2 months ago The Ontario Liberal government announced that it was raising taxes on cigarettes. The tax was $1.25 per carton. As a non-smoker this decision had no affect on me, and to be honest I could care less, that is until I heard the reason they are doing it. Apparently The Oh mighty himself Dalton McQuinty is doing it to save young people from smoking. He reasoned that by making a pack of smokes so expensive it would be tough for young people to afford it and therefore they would not start smoking. What a load of hogwash if I have ever heard it before. If Dalton would have said he was raising the price because of the cost of health care due to smoking related illnesses, I would have said "well done", but No he goes out and says he's "Saving the children" Who the hell does he think he is? Angelina Jolie, or some other bullshit activist! Let me just state that the government relies a lot on the "sin taxes" like alcohol, and smoking. I will guarantee if everyone stopped smoking the governement would go into chaos trying to find the extra money, and would end up raising other taxes. Plus why can't he guarantee that every cent of the smoking tax goes into healthcare! Because as a left wing piss ant he would hate to cut such important programs as the welfare living assitance or some housing program which are just black holes. Plus go back to when your 15, was it really tough to get cigarettes or alcohol? Please! Considering I came from Belleville near an Indian reserve, it would just take a ride out to the nearest reserve, and find the closest car on stilts, make a transaction for what was in the truck and drive off. And guess what Dalton the illegal smuggling in Indian reserves will startup again. You may recall a pack of cigarettes was $7 in 1994 until the illegal cigarette business began to thrive and then the government lowered the price to get rid of that business. Amazing how reserves can do that kind of business and always ask for handouts, but I guess thats a different subject for a different time. Dalton saying he is raising cigarettes to protect our youth is like Traffic cops saying they give out speeding tickets to protect the safety of the public........ which bring me too.

I dislike Traffic cops!!!! I believe that the job of a traffic cop is the most hypocritical job of them all. I have more respect for a bum collecting bottles on street, at least he is doing something useful. I believe a traffic cop is very much like a gay pornstar...They get paid to screw someone up the ass. I read recently that traffic cops setup blitzes so that they can protect the public's safety. Hmmm, if they were so concerned with speed why do auto makers manufacture cars that can go 220km/hr. If they are so concerned why not put governors on cars so that they can't break that speed? Why do they always setup shop at the bottom of a hill? Well let me help everyone out...It's money. They don't setup blitzes for safety, it's for money. It's a joke. Has anyone done 100 km/hr on the 401? How was it? Real safe eh? Plus let's not forget how hypocritical these assholes are. Every seen a cop turn on the cherries to make a left and then turn them off? Ever seen a cop fly by you at 160 km/hr on the 401? Or turn on the cherries, go on the shoulder during a traffic jam? Then these same people turn around and give you a ticket for 65 in a 50. It's laughable. The last ticket I got was for 65 in a 50. As the cop asked me if I knew how fast I was going I said no, he said well you were going 65 in a 50, I asked him if he ever did that and he said No, I proceeded to call him a liar and asked him to give me a ticket, You think I believe for a second that any cop hasn't done 15km/hr over the limit. BS. The look on his face was worth the ticket. And before you spill the dribble that it depends on how you treat the cop when he approaches your car, its also BS. I was very cordial on my first couple tickets and guess what, it doesn't matter, I don't have a nice set of ta-tas. My wife was pulled over for not stopping at a stop sign and turning left on a red and got off with a warning. Hmm I wonder why that was, maybe the fact she is a lot better looking then me comes to mind. And really if you follow the rule book should my initial response have any effect. So the next time you see Magiver at the bottom of a hill hiding behind a fence with a gun do what I do, give him the finger. Maybe there would be something better to do like stop real crime or grab a donut.

As for the Leafs I hear and read how everyone thinks JFJ is the cause of the Leafs doom and gloom. I disagree. Now if he doesn't fire Pat Quinn at the end of the season i woudl agree, but lets look at JFJ's situation. He was screwed over by the cap. (even though I agree with a cap unlike some midget troll who works for the Toronto Sun and looks like what would happen to one of those munchkins off the Wizard of OZ if they decided to do heroin every day. Mr Al Strachan.) He had to gut the team and sign some risks for one year deals which sets him up nicely for the FA this summer. But don't think for a second that he would have tried to buy out contracts. It's just the fact that a teachers pension fund would not pay money for nothing so he could not buyout anyone. Then the owner forces him to sigm Tie Domi (Me Idiot) who annoys me with everyday that passes. Maybe during that 1000th game pre ceremony they gave him they should have included the elbow to Scott Niedermayers face which cost them a series agianst the Devils, or maybe they could have included his numerous selfish penalties, or his brother running the cities computer upgrades, or maybe him going on the radio saying that Pierre MaQuire is a piece of crap for suggesting the players would take a salary cap (So who was right again TIE?), or you could include his favourite line about any coach, His players don't respect him....LOL Who the hell respects Tie Domi? A guy who gets a contract because some moronioc Leaf fans think he is a god. If he is a god I am motherF%^*ing Brad Pitt. The problem is the coach who seems to see something in Wade Belak, and Domi, and Khavanov, and Sundin, and Allison. I mean during Fridays game against the NYI in OT he starts with Antropov-Poni, follows up with Allison-Tucker, then finally Steen-Sundin. It's 4-4 and he starts 2 pairs who can't skate. His best forward in the game was Wellwood a kid with talent and he sits so that Allison can slow the game down while on 4-4. What a joke. Its time to play the rokkies and lose the dead wieght, but oh not the Phat one, he will still rides the veterans. Great. By the way he finally did something good on saturday and started there best goalie, and guess what they win. One goalie has as SP over 900 one doesn't, heres a suggestion start your best goalie, and let me help you out his name id not Ed "Cement" Belfour. well see what he does Tuesday.

Random thoughts.

1. Brokeback Mountain was the first movie where I had to cover my eyes, and I fail to see how it was a good movie. Let me explain the plot they go fishing every 2 weeks, and don't do much fishing per say. The wives find out, end of movie. Wow great flick, and I am not homophobic, I enjoyed Capote and Philadelphia which had gay themes however what they had that BB didn't was a plot.

2. When driving if ACDC comes on do you not automatically speed up? Hopefully a pig with a speed gun is nowhere aorund when it comes on.

Operation Slapshot and Steve Simmons

This morning I got a call requesting that I write a blog soon, as they were anxiously waiting for me to spill my garbage. I am impressed I actually have a fan…WooHoo.

After watching the Canadian Olympic Men’s Hockey Team over the weekend lose 2-0 to both Finland and Switzerland, and the media coverage of “Operation Slapshot” I felt I needed to comment.

Firstly when I first heard of “Operation Slapshot” I mistakenly took it for the immediate arrest of the people responsible for making a sequel and ruining the name of the greatest hockey movie ever…”Slapshot”. Some moron thought it would be good to make a sequel to Slapshot and on top of that cast a complete idiot like Stephen Baldwin, you know the Baldwin with no talent and now is a preacher or something. I was pleased to think that the producers of that movie were about to be served arrest warrants in the state of New Jersey. However I was wrong, it was about a gambling ring which it is alleged involved Phoenix Coyotes assistant coach Rick Tocchet.

After my disappointment that this operation was not about the immediate hanging of anyone involved in Slapshot 2, I immediately set an over under of 4 hours before someone would tie Wayne Gretzky to it. Sure enough in a “leak” it was reported that Janet Gretzky had placed bets in this ring, and off you go. Firstly my opinion is if no betting occurred on hockey, who the hell cares. The only reason the government is pissed is because they didn’t get any of the money. Our provincial government has all these ads that gambling is bad, and yet they run Proline. It’s all very hypocritical. And I will ask how many people are in a pool at work? So what some people bet on sports, as long as they bet on sports games where they don’t have a direct link to the outcome of the game I fail to see the atrocity of this. Well apparently the Canadian media cares!
You know the media is coming down hard on the Great One. I listen and read the Stephen Brunt’s, Bob McCowan’s, and Damien Cox’s of the world give there opinions. I find it funny considering Wayne might not have any involvement at all, but don’t tell that to the know it all’s in the sports media, especially a Toronto Sun columnist Steve Simmons, who I will focus most of my rant on. Keep in mind I will not pass judgment on Wayne Gretzky yet good or bad. You want to know why? I haven’t heard the facts yet. This isn’t like OJ who massacred 2 people with his blood all over them.

Let me first say that I have enjoyed a Simmons column once in a while. But when he started writing about the fact that Gretzky should not go to the Olympics because he would be a distraction I laughed out loud. First Steve’s most athletic feat of all time was the time he climbed a set of stairs without passing out. So now Steve Simmons should be the conscience of Wayne Gretzky? Wow! Congratulations Steve. Who knew that a writer for the Sun would be telling Wayne Gretzky what he should and should not do? I never knew that Steve was so well connected with the Olympic Men’s hockey team that he was an advisor on the staff to pass of such important information. Let me help you Steve you are a writer for the Toronto Sun, not the all mighty of everything moral. You shouldn’t pass judgment on someone when the facts are not known yet. Wayne Gretzky gets to make the decision whether he goes to the Olympics, Not you! You say it is a distraction to the team, How the hell do you know that? If the team loses is it because Wayne showed up? So laughable. I can’t wait to read your article if they lose. I also read your piece where some cross country skier got a bronze and that was overshadowed by Wayne showing up in Turin. Here’s a hint you piece of crap, No one other then the parents of the athlete care what happened in the Cross Country event. Even if Wayne didn’t show up no one would care!!!! It’s like the girl who won silver in the trampoline, what next a medal for the culinary arts? Now what happens if it is shown that Wayne had nothing to do with the ring, well let me delve into my crystal ball it looks a little like this…..Byline in 2008 …Your famous line……and whatever became of Steve Simmons.

As for the hockey team they have played horrible so far. I can’t understand why big wingers and centres like Iginla, Lecavalier, Nash, Bertuzzi, and Thornton always play on the outside. They never drive the net with the puck. It’s always a wrist shot from 40 feet. If I see Iginla miss the net with a wrist shot from the boards on a 1 on 1 I am going to blow my stack. Everything on this team is played on the perimeter and I can’t understand why. I am quickly seeing why Joe Thornton was moved out of Boston. He plays on the outside all the time. I am thinking if I am a forward facing down the mean bad ass Aki Berg, I might try to beat him to net with speed, trust me if you watch the Leafs it doesn’t take much speed, also conversely if I am going against a small fast defenseman like Kimmo Timmonen or any of the non NHL Swiss defenders, I might try to physically take it to the net, hell I will get a closer chance to score or I might draw a penalty. So far the Canadian forwards have played on the perimeter and that’s the main issue on why they can’t score. Most goalies can stop the 40 ft wrist shot Jarome. As for the Defence someone should explain to Chris Pronger what a cross check is because I saw him do 3 very nice crosschecks and he looked absolutely shocked when the ref called a penalty on him. I know you usually learn that at age 5 but Pronger really looks like he missed that class. My Take On The Leafs Losing Streak

Wow panic has set in. I am a big fan of hockeybuzz.com, and I just read an interesting article by Howard Berger. I for the most part enjoy Howard's view, and respect him as a journalist. I also respect anyone who goes after the Know It All Midget Al Strachan who hasn't wrote a decent hockey article in my 28 years on this earth, However;

I get sick and tired of Berger's slant that all Maple Leaf fans are delirious, and lunatics. Are there some? Of course, but why must he always write an article saying the "Leaf Nation" is this emotional mess, the likes that haven't been seen since Anna Nicole had her last shot of heroin.

Maybe I am one of this lunatics Berger refers too, however as I stated earlier I thought the Leafs would be life and death to make the playoffs, and guess what, that's where they are. So am I surprised they struggle against fast teams? No! Have they overacheived? No, Have they underacheived? I think they have.. and when a team underacheives who should be held responsible? Coach? Yes GM? Yes CEO, I wish but with Tricky Dick Peddie at the top, who the hell knows?

Anyways lets look at the coaching ability of Quinn. This team doesn't play any semblence of a gameplan, It's go out there guys and just do what you do? With veterans this could work? With geezers mixed in with rookies It's a recipe for disaster. Jason Allison is the worst player the Leafs have had since Chris Kotsopolous donned his skates. I mean I don't think I have ever seen a player get a goal and an assist on the same play; of course the problem was it was for the opposition team. They talk of him controlling the boards...LOL He hasn't won a battle on the boards this year, He is weak, not a good playmaker, maybe the slowest skater in the NHL, and looks to me like he has taken one to many shots to his head. And yet if I ask you which Leaf forward gets the most Ice time? What would you guess? that's right the Human Giveaway Machine? Allison. So who the hell gives this god damn disgrace of a hockey player that ice time? Quinn. Why does Allison average more ice time then Sundin? You tell me Pat? Maybe Jason is servicing Quinn in the shower, or he has pictures? I don't know. But you should be able to see on the ice who is playing well and who isn't and adjust Ice Time accordingly. If a player is -3 with a goal for the opposition do you reward him with ice time? Quinn does, simply put Bad coaching.

So now let's look at the geezer Belfour. He gives up 2 AHL goals a game, has forgotten how to handle the puck, and generally is maybe the worst starting goalie in the NHL right now. Telquist, the backup has been surprisingly good this year, yet who gets most of the starts? You got it Belfour.

A. 18-18-3 Save Percentage 0.878 GA 3.46
B. 5-2-1 Save Percentage 0.917 GA 2.63

Buzz Hargrove Is The Man

Anyone who knows me will know how little I think of Buzz Hargrove. The man has made a living robbing from workers he supposedly protects, and usually casts his ugly shadow once every 2 years to attack the Big Three Auto Makers. Oh sorry I forgot since Buzz is such a revolutionary and good for our economy, the Big Three are now down to the Big 3rd, 4th, and 5th, and lets be honest the CAW has a lot to do with the decline. When a janitor makes more then an engineer your design is a little flawed. I always ask myself what the workers are drinking to not realize the money he makes for them is then siphoned off by him to enjoy a nice plush office, and the ability to only work 4 weeks out of 2 years. Buzz was on my Top 10 list of People I Want To Punch In The Face. As a matter of fact he was in the Top 5, however after his act last week I have taken him off the list. I love him for getting Paul Martin to use him as a supporter, and then in a genius move with Pauly by his side he states that he supports a seperatist party (Bloc) over the Conservatives. Having Buzz Hargrove support you for PM is like having Micheal Jackson support you as a good babysitter. I mean I don't make this up, I can't, Do you know who's name starts with an H and ends in a R and has 6 letters like Harper it's Hitler, ready to try radical ethnic cleansing of gays in our cities like Mike Harris....Oh wait sorry I got caught up in one of the Liberals positive ads.

So Buzz would like to see Quebecs vote in a seperatist group, instead of Conservatives or I guess Liberals Hmmmm... Interesting, and this guy supports Martin and his buddy in this election. So Paul why don't you delve into whether you like old Buzz's support now. And I have said before, If you saddle up to a skunk, expect to get sprayed. So how's the smell Paul you old goat.

And just like the last election Paul Martin is spewing the Hidden agenda, although in one debate he said that The Conservatives agenda isn't hidden, but in the Liberals world that's semantics. I see now that he speaks of abortion, a US state, Soldiers in our cities, well hell with a Conservative government Canada will become the next Rwanda right Paul. Its just plain garbage and simply put shows what a disgusting dumb man will do when he is desperate. Although Ontario voters in the past have proven how dumb they are, but to be fooled for a second time would be pushing it, at least I hope.

Remember this Paul when you are hopefully done with politics on Monday. Your legacy will be what? Merry Christmas - Sort Of

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here's hoping that 2006 brings great things. Since everyone knows I am a little of a "Half glass empty" kinda guy, if you find Merry Christmas as an offensive statement I would ask for you to kiss my ass.

Now for the rant;

On Boxing Day a 15 year old girl was killed while looking for some Boxing Day deals on Yonge Street. Since this time I have heard how very mad people are at what took place. As I always say "Talk is F'n cheap". Some might recall my post earlier this year where a 6 year old girl was shot while on a bus, because a black youth (Not "An at Risk" youth like Miller craps out) decided he was dissed by another bus rider. Everyone got angry, and what happened? The same that will happen in this case........NOT A F'N Thing.

First Irwin Cotler made an assine statement, the Chief was confident they would catch the person, the public outcried, and lets look at the facts, No arrests, and just nicely swept under the rug, Thank you. It's an "At risk youth" problem. I mean are we so politically correct or what.

Lets look at the asssine statements this time....

Mayor Miller while in vacation in Spain took time out of his vacation with his 12% pay raise he gave himself and went on CNN to blame the Americans for the Boxing Day shooting. And Canadians wonder why we are called the "retarded cousin". It's because we are for electing complete morons and retards to public office. Mayor Miller uses this incident for some time on CNN to push an agenda that isn't there to push. He reminds me of the "Special Ed" classes in my old high school where if someone was hit and the class was asked who did it, he would stand up and point and say "He did it". Did he mention anything about the victim? Did he mention anything about punishment? Good to see where his priorites are!!!!!!!

If by exclusion he is talking about the exclusion of victims rights well he is right. This crime was caused by "Hug a Thug" thinking (PS Thanks Julian Fantino great term). I also didn't know Paul Martin was a defense attorney for criminals but his quote could help the cause of the criminal. Just like our F'd up society to provide excuses for the criminals while failing to protect the victims rights. Karla Homolka, Drug dealers, and gang bangers being let out on bail so they can disappear, etc. I suggest Paul Martin keep to things he is good at, Making sure his business Canadian Steamship keeps avoiding Canadian taxes by using Bahamas as a tax shelter, doing what I used to do a lot of "Flapping" during the debates, and making our country a disgrace.

Even if they caught some of the thugs, they will surely qualify for the Youth Offenders Act which will protect them and there identity. They should publish these dummies name so we can hold the parents responsible as well. I will tell you my thoughts on how to solve this problem... however I suggest the politically correct stop reading.

1. Birth Licenses, to stop poor, drugged out, on the system people from crapping out kids who have no chance so Mom and Dad can get another bottle of whisky a week. Sorry folks this is happening. If you need a license to do anything why not a License for having kids. I find it amusing that people who want kids and can't, have to pay through the nose for kids they want and are willing to do it. Does the governement help these people out. No. They help out the rejects of life who would not go to the extremes to have kids. They have kids for money while people who want kids and can't, have to pay for the privilige. Kinda backward isn't it.

2. Scrap the Youth Offenders Act. If you make a mistake I don't care at what age you should be punished. Are you telling me a 17 year old who kills someone is to young to understand the consequences. Please.

3. Mandatory minimum sentences, to prevent the "Hug a Thug" judges from dealing them out. And I am talking about Life for any murder, No parole. Or death sentences. Punishment that would be stiff. Do I think the incident on Boxing Day would not have happened if these sentences were in Place. No.. But wouldn't it be nice to know that the poeple who did this would be off our streets forever.

4. Add more police officers to the streets, and get rid of the politically correct mandate. Everyone who does this is as they put it "Our known to police" If they are known Deal with the motherf&%ers. And I will say it. Most of these crimes are committed by BLACKS!!! There I said it, I am going to hell.

5. Scrap social programs that allow the weak and destructive of our society to thrive. You know a welfare system that allows people to live like normal hard working people. This is communism and from what I hear, wars were fought over it.

6. Kick this Liberal government out of power. They are more concerned with greasing there pockets then governing. Why is our country seen as "Retarded Cousins"? It is because of a lack of leadership.

Toronto Maple Leaf Comments

Well I know not many people read my blog, and less enjoy it, however for my general health instead of yelling at the TV I have decided that I would post my thoughts about the Leafs performance tonight.

Jason Allison has more 2nd assists then anyone in the NHL right now, so to tell me he is a good player just due to 2nd and sometimes 3rd assists points is just plain stupid. This guy is a plain joke, I am sorry that the good folks at the Leafs radio stations feel different then me, but to the real Leaf fans I know you feel my pain. My nickname for him is the "Human giveaway machine" you give him the puck and he will find a way to give it to the other team. He is the only one in the NHL I have seen so far fall down due to nothing but his inability to skate.

Bryan McCabe basically showed in one night why putting him on the Canadian Olympic Team would be a bad decison. On for both goals, and the main person responsible for both goals. When your in novice and a Dman, your coach tells you to be aware of a player coming off the penalty bench. I agree Belfour should have slapped his stick but McCabe should have been aware. Of course for Bryan to be aware of anything he would need a damn labotomy. The 2nd goal he goes to his knees to block a pass at the red line. WHY??????? He is a god damn moron, so when he goes to his knees for god knows what reason, as I do not understand what retards do, Lehitnen beats him to the net and scores. Just an assinine play and shows you why no one other then the Homer Joe Bowen belives the Scarecrow "If I only had a brain" belongs on the team.

Why were Allison, Poni, and Antropov on for 2 minutes of the last 5. I would agree with anyone who says that Poni, and Antropov have played well this year, but they did not have a good night tonight. Why put them on, as they are Ice hogs?

Please more ice time for Wellwood, and Stajan and less for Allison and O'Neill. Also am I mistaken but hasn't Tellquist played better then Eddie this year?

Paul Martin Vows to Ban Handguns - What a farse

Well the other day I had the unfortunate opportunity to listen to Paul Martin, flanked by tweedle dee Micheal Bryant, and tweedle dumb Dave Miller, announce his revoultionary idea to combat crime in Toronto. Keep in mind Old Pauly has been soft on crime and Irwin Cotler has ignored the problem, that is until election time.

The great oh so mighty idea.........BAN handguns. I nearly choked on my drink when I heard it, I actually started to laugh. BAN Handguns. What a fantastic idea, this will stop crime for sure because as we all know criminals always declare they have guns and register them. I mean this is as dumb as the Gun Bank. When a 20 yrd old kid is about to put a bullet into someone because they "Dissed, or stole, or disrespected" him, the first thing that will go through his mind is "Hey I better not do this because King Pauly and his leftist cronies told me that handguns are banned, so I better not do it." WHAT?? When will the Liberals, and the rest of Ontario get it? Criminals DO NOT register or care if handguns are banned!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What next Ban cars because they kill more people then guns. Ban planes because sometimes they crash? I mean these guys are supposed to be smart, and this is what they come up with. I thought the Ban of pitbulls was a joke too. Sooner or later people must realize that the people holding the guns, taking care of the pitbull...etc are responsible for there actions, and should be punished! A scenario for you Lets say 10 drunk drivers hit and kill 10 different people while driving a Dodge Neon. The way to solve these crimes is to institute tougher sentences, tougher minimum sentences so some tree hugging judge can't let someone free for raping someone while there sleeping (Oh wrong case). The Liberals prefer to help the criminals vs the victims, and that to me is what needs to change. The Youth Offenders Act, the whole justice system, needs an overhaul. You know its tough when a women who raped tortured, and killed 3 people, gets to have conditions lifted off her by some leftist judge, her name Karla Homolka, we protect her rather then the victims families. Our priorites are bass ackwards.

As for banning things. Are drugs like heroin, crack, cocaine illegal? Yes. So if they are Banned, why does Toronto City council pass a motion that will provide addicts a safe house and clean needles to ingest these ban substances? I thought they were banned. This is hypocritical is it not? But this is the touchy-feely feel good solution passed by communists. Again we treat criminals with kid gloves, and reward them for being criminals, meanwhile victims are treated tough. And for you lefties out there addicts are not victims, they are criminals. They had a choice to do drugs or not. So calling addicts victims of a system or whatever BS you spill is what it is.......Wrong!

Well today begins another election campaign in what was once a great place to live Canada. I guess I should be happy that a criminal organization has a chance to be dethroned and not have a chance to pilfer my hard earned tax dollars into scams, and black holes, like Funding for Aboriginals, or Health care, where the money goes in but you have no idea what it does. You do know it is squandered quickly though as they both come for more money every year. I mean having an auditor make sure the money goes into the right place is a neo-Nazi idea, at least thats what the Liberal, CBC, Toronto Star, and Globe And Mail keep telling me. I guess when I put my money into investments I shouldn't ask what happens or hold anyone accountable for its losses or waste eh! Because the Liberals know how to run the country and are the only ones who do, but I digress I am rambling. I am not excited at all, the reason; I live in a province full of idiots who are willing to vote in the Liberals again, and not hold them accountable.

The Liberals in a matter of seconds have started the smear campaign, which somehow the Canadian public buys of the SCARY Conservatives. Lets look at Paul Martin's speech at the onset with my added commentary....

Censorship in Canada - Howard Stern Banned

I am absolutley outraged that Howard Stern will not be able to broadcast over PAY Radio in Canada. This is true censorship. Apparently Sirius Canada has no plans on broadcasting Stern. Why? Because they wouldn't get subscriptions No! This was the explanation...

"The CRTC, who we are licensed to, would eventually force us to take Stern down, because we have standards we have to abide by in this country when you own a broadcasting licence."

Are you F'n kidding me. This is not terrestial radio, this is a program you pay for, and what gives anyone the right to tell me what I can or can not listen to. what next ban The View because if too many men look at Star Jones to long they will become gay? Satellite Radio is a service you pay for, so why in the hell should it fall under the CRTC umbrella. I choose to listen to it, I can not just all of a sudden turn on my radio and hear it? I CHOOSE TO LISTEN!!!! I PAY TO LISTEN. The CRTC acts like it is some father figure telling me what is right and wrong. Go F yourself. Apparently listening to Oprah rant about some topic or Dr.Phil spewing garbage is up to "Canadian standards" Another dangerous quote;

Listen I am the biggest believer in free speech. I hate most talk shows, and regular TV, but they have the right to broadcast them without being censored. Anything that prevents this is wrong pure and simple.

Irwin Cotler - Total Change of Mind

I dislike Irwin Cotler (for most Canadians who don't know he is our federal justice minister, you might what to know that kinda stuff, I digress) immensely. Why? Well, I dislike most Liberals, but I detest Irwin Cotler for being a spineless, hypocritical piece of human waste. Here is an example. If you look at my archives I gave him a Larry King Award some time ago for stating after a rash of gun violence in Toronto and a call for stiffer minimum sentences,

"We are concerned whenever there is an outbreak of violence, but we don't enact laws in response to a particular event, however regrettable and tragic it is for the victims."

Hmm an assine statement for sure, so lets look at what Irwin Cotler said today, keep in mind folks this is just before an election, that appears to be close.

"We have to send a strong message with respect to those who would wish to engage in gun-related crime," Cotler said in an interview Monday. "There will be legislative initiatives in that regard . . . . If there is a consensus after I share this with my colleagues, I will be able to move rather quickly."

Wow so in 7 months what an about face by the so called principled leader. I wonder why he changed his mind. Instead of me answering this why don't I let the Wrinkled ass Cotler do it for me.

Taking note of opposition threats to bring down the government, Cotler cited the gun reforms as "another reason why it may not be a good idea to have an election yet."

"Maybe we should get some important business accomplished without it being pre-empted by an (earlier) election," said Cotler.

Cotler you are like every other Liberal; a god damn disgrace. All of a sudden you step back on your principles (granted they were wrong), when danger of losing power comes a knockin. And guess what most Canadians (who call themselves educated, and unbiased, yet take CBC and the Toronto Star as their bible) will fall for this. Mr. Cotler was more interested in the gay marriage bill before over gun legislation but now with an election near all of a sudden eh....

Other things on my mind

1. Letting Jack Layton have some power is like pouring coke into a NFL lockeroom. Not good

2. Why would the Carolina Panthers release 3 find upstanding cheerleaders for having lesbian sex in a bar. What's wrong with that, other then it wasn't on pay-per-view. I mean they don't release players for killing there girlfriends (Rae Carruth), or taking steroids (kicker). Give the girls a break...LOL

3. This just in Jason Allison still can't skate, even if he is playing wing. Read an article where he wants more ice time. Also read an article where pigs will start crapping Tiffany Cufflinks too.

4. Bryan McCabe for Canadian Olympic Team. Sounds like a great start for a comedy routine. The Scarecrow is not that good. Look how long it is taking him to adjust to being covered on the Powerplay now.

5. If the Raptors were given a handicap of 30 wins, would they still make playoffs? I have an over under at 15 wins, and ladies and germs I am taking the under.

6. Amazing how when Stephen Harper releases his ethics platform that was called by experts, as "the best one yet" and would have prevented "AdScam" a liberal Scott Brison comes out and blatantly lies about Harper and his time in the NCC. However how many of you know Harpers platform or heard about it? Yet Scott Brison who lies gets plenty of time on CBC to plant these lies, however CBC forgets about telling the public Harper's ideas. Unbiased for sure. Brison should be sued for libel, and should have to make an apology on the CBC and in commons for lying. But then again the Liberals are so ethical right?

The Toronto Mayor David "Barney Fife" Miller was up to his old tricks of letting air go through his vocal chords and opening his yap and saying some more ridiculous things.

This man, who believes he is Richard Gere, is a fine example of how broke the political process is. As everyone knows; if you read my rants I lean (some would say "stand firmly") on the right of the political pendulum. Toronto right now has a mayor, who is a joke, and believes if we give everyone a big hug everything will get better. I am sure he spent too much time being breast fed by his mother, and joined all the "save the world" clubs in school which has led to some of the worst ideas I have ever heard, such as his basketball courts will cut crime, or the absolute beauty a gun bank, and now after another couple days in the new Compton (Toronto) a new idea from Barney Fife;

After the shootings David Miller called on "Companies to rise to the challenge, the mayor urged, by offering on-the-job training, jobs, "hope and opportunity" for hish risk youths".

Are you kidding me............

Lets look through his excuses so far

1. Its the Americans fault.....laughable
2. Its gun stores and owners fault for not securing there weapons, therefore a bank was needed.....see above
3. It was because there is not enough basketball courts........
4. Now it is business fault for not hiring high risk youths. Let me address this. I am an Operations Manager for a manufacturing plant, and let's say I have a job opening up, is Mayor Miller telling me I should just go to jane and finch and hire because "It's the right thing to do". You know I thought getting a job took some work through education, and working your butt off to prove yourself. But Mayor Miller belives people who work hard get education should take a back seat to a "High Risk" youth who took the easy way out of selling drugs and being a thug. Yes I believe we are entering the "Communist Zone".

Mayor Miller should look at his record since he took office and brought his touchy-feely slacker attitude to city hall. More gun crimes, more murders. A coincidence, Ahhh NO.

You know on that list of excuses not once has he addressed the person who does the shooting as the fault.

A gun can't kill a person, the person holding the gun does. Punish the criminal. ITS THERE FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone always has an excuse for everything that goes wrong, they get bad marks because of OCD, or there to stressed. I got in crime because I had no other choice, etc. I have a neuroligical disorder. I have A.D.D. It's all garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To curb this you need to be tough on criminals, harsh sentences, etc. Not gun banks, Basketball Courts, or "On The Job Training"

But with Barney Fife in office, and being a fine example of why a Harvard education isn't all its cracked up to be, we can expect more gun crimes etc. What next for david Miller, blame video games, or TV, or hockey, etc. Maybe he should look in the mirror, theres a real reason why we have more crime in Toronto!

My take on the Leafs so far, and other Hockey news.

So far the NHL has been very entertaining. I am liking the new rules, and have noticed that speed is the most important skill teams need. Which makes me wonder how the fastest skater with no skill Todd Warriner would fair, but I digress. With that said and how I feel that speed is so important, I am very worried about the Toronto Maple Leafs, as for the most part they lack speed. I watched the Montreal Leafs game on saturday night at the ACC and I was blown away by the Habs speed, and the lack of speed from the Leafs supposed best players.

My take

Jason Allison - A Bust. He can't skate. Reminds me a lot like Larry Murphy. You know give him the puck when your penalty killing and you have killed off 30 seconds by the time he skates it in your end. His penalty shot in the 1st game was terrible. I could have gone to Tim Hortons picked up a X-Large black, and been back to see him complete his shot. With the new NHL I don't see how Allison can be effective. This gamble backfired.

Eric Lindros - Been very impressed. By far the Leafs best forward in the 2 games. Just wish he had some talent on the wings with him.

Chad Kilger - Impressed with his speed, I think he will be a sleeper on the Leafs only because he has some good wheels, hopefully will be given more Ice time.

Wade Belak - The Albino Retard can't play in the AHL never mind the NHL. Will see how long Phat Quinn will keep with him. At best a popcorn vendor. Him and Berg are atrocious together. Really awful move to put them together.

Bryan McCabe - still the Scarecrow, the son of a bitch lacks a brain.

Ed Belfour - Average so far. Sourays goal from blueline no screeen, not good.

The Kids - I love Stajan, Steen and Wellwood, all have speed, and some skill. But with Phatty boy its tough for young kids to get Ice time, Just ask Alyn McCauley. Putting Wellwood with Wilm, and Domi and asking him to get points is like asking me to paint the Mona Lisa.

Tucker - I think he can be alright but please don't saddle him with Allison.

Czerkawski - Can someone say Dmitri Khristich in Polish.

Berg - A god damn disgrace.

Who is coaching the Leafs powerplay, because they should be fired. McCabe firing it around the boards so the goalie can play it is idiotic. Take advantage of the rules and dump it in the corner. Or why do the Leafs insist on not putting someone in front of the net? Simply awful.

Overall I think the Leafs will struggle. They might sneak in the 8th spot, but will struggle against teams with speed. Ottawa and Montreal just skate around the Leafs D. Its pretty embarrassing.

As for another topic, I recently have seen an overwhelming voice speaking out against fighting in Hockey. To all who have that opinion, look in the mirror; staring back at you is a moron. Go to a hockey game and when a fight happens take a look at how many people stay in there seats and look away. It is entertaining to see and adds to the game in some cases. A good rivalry game with a little bit "of extra hockey" is not a bad thing. The critics would say "The Americans don't like it". What a crock. Why do you think 100,000 Nascar fans go to the race, for the ambience, or the women. Lets face it most women at the races lack a full set of teeth, and there's nothing like a bunch of drunks , hot sun, and concrete to make my day. They go for the crashes, and the battle. So Rob Faulds, Damien Cox, etc. drop the assinine thoughts about Fighting, and stick to stuff your good at, although I don't know what that is.

Example of No Common Sense

In a previous rant I went off about the 3 "C"'s people lack. I dealt with Consistency, and Competence. I will provide 3 examples of a lack of common sense, and NO it is not a coincidence that 2 examples of lack of common sense come from liberal, or left minded people. I think Liberal should be rewritten in the Oxford dictionary to mean "lack of common sense".

1. In what may be the most ridicoulous thing I have ever heard, the Toronto Mayor "Barney Fife" Miller has come up with the biggest bonehead idea of all time to fight gun violence in Toronto. Keep in mind this guy has come up with ideas, like more basketball courts to fight poverty, and violence. Or throw money into the empty pit that is the homeless, and heaven forbid arrest homeless people for crimes, because somehow it is not ther fault. Or his gem that it is the U.S. fault for the gun violence in Toronto. It seems Mayor Miller thinks it would be great to have a central location to store guns, sort of like a bank for guns, where you would have to sign out your guns and be forced to store your guns in this "Bank". What a F'n moron. Let me help the Liberals out here, criminals who have guns are not going to register them or put them in a f'n bank. So spending 1 billion dollars for a gun registry and who the hell knows for a bank is not only a waste of taxpayers money but will only punish people who legally own guns. Are you telling me that Jamal who is illegally in this country will take his 9mm and go down and register this gun, and then when old Leroy back talks him and he wants to shoot him, Jamal is going to go down to this "Bank" and check out his gun, shoot Leroy, and bring it back to the Bank!!! I mean to think that Miller is the Mayor of Toronto is simply an embarassment and proves that the majority of Torontonians are either stupid or just don't care. To combat crime you need to be able to fight it with stiff punishment, but of course since Chief Billy Bob Blair has come on board he has solved 3 murders of the 35. Great batting avaerage, you want to play 1st base for the Blue Jays.

2. A committe is being setup to understand or improve gridlock in Toronto. Of course this committee will come up with ideas like the one for the privatization of the LCBO. The governement will ignore it and it will cost 15 million for ideas from people who have never had to worry about being in traffic. Now lets see what would happen if you asked an 8 year old the same question. Pardon the french but the answer would be

"Build more F'n roads" there you go that advice is free. And this Bullshit that the TTC is a great system is lunacy. For me to go to work, I would have to take a Go train at $50.25 a week then a 1km walk to a subway which would be another $25 a week to take a subway and then onto a bus. It would take me 2 hours to get to work instead of the 1.25 hours it normally takes now, and my cost for gas currently a week is $50. So don't tell me I am not thinking about the enviornment when I choose not to take the TTC. Again a waste of 15 million dollars for what? To keep those Left Wing braindead lawyers employed.

3. The effects of Hurricane Katrina are terrible. While I will keep my politically incorrect comments to myself, I read this article where tourists were very upset because they weren't being looked after. One girl had mentioned she arrived on the Saturday and was very disturbed that the tourists were not the #1 priority for a city thats #1 business is tourism. Well lets see, You don;t live in new Orleans. The Governor ordered an evacuation of the city and yet you still travel to the city, and then complain. I mean its a shame she didn't die because we would have had one less moron on the planet.

Where is some good old common sense when you need it.

Baseball - A Joke Once Again

When it was learned this week that Rafael Palmeiro tested positive for a steroid I was shocked......Yeah right. Of course he was using steroids. You don't go from averaging 16 HRs and 63 RBI, to averaging 38 Hrs and 113 RBI's overnight. Of course he only started doing better after being traded to Rangers and meeting Canseco. I guess that is just a coincidence. Or that's right Jose Canseco is a disgusting human being who lies right. Hmmm wasn't it just 6 months ago this guy told congress he Never has done steroids. Then after being caught he says he did not put it into his body intentionally, Maybe it was a supplement?

Well here's the facts

1. He was caught with the same drug Ben Johnson was using. Remember the Who framed Ben Johnson? Of course I have more respect for Ben Johnson because everyone in the race was on roids. He just got caught, Oh yeah so did Carl Lewis, but he bought his way out of it, Oh thats another story. The fact is you can not have this steroid in your system through a supplement. That means he KNOWINGLY took it.

2. He was a caught a month ago, and Baseball the assinine sport that it is kept it hush hush until Palemeiro got his 3000th hit. What a crock of crap (Stolen from gretzky). Talk about protecting its players. And to think baseball fans snub there noses down at hockey violence and its supposed light suspensions. This guy only gets 10 days. He should be gone for life. That would get rid of Baseballs steroid problem. But they wouldn't do that. They need those Big Homeruns. What a joke. Baseball fans are as idiotic a fan you will ever meet, right up with the "Dah, Gee wiz Skeeter no crash today" Nascar fan.

3. Kind of ironic Barry sat out this year, and oh yeah now looks like the Barry Bonds of 1992. Hmm coincidence, ahhhhh NO!

Three Words That Start With "C" Society Lacks

Lately I have witnessed, or paid more attention too, a lack of three things in Canadian society which for some reason I have deemed as important... Why? No Idea, but like a "Eureka" it hit me Three Words that it appears society lacks, Consistency, Competence, and most important Common Sense.

In this rant I will deal with the first two "C"'s. The Common Sense will be dealt with on another rant.

First Let's talk consistently. I am the kind of guy who values it. I like to make decisions based on cause and effect. Meaning as an example, if I buy chocolate every day, I will get fat. Let me give you a couple of examples, Why does a company like Rogers tell you they are going to come between 1pm-5pm, and well hell if you work like the majority of people YOUR Screwed. Your telling me a company like Rogers can't setup a schedule for a day where they could possibly be 4 hours behind. Give me a F'n break. So now you waste a weekend waiting for them to show up between 8am-12pm, and of course what time to they show up at 1pm. Or have you ever gone to a restaurant where the food and service were fantastic, then go back a couple of weeks later, and the food and service are crap? How about driving. I know everyone has been in this predicament. You are passing cars, in the aptly named "Passing" lane, and approach someone who is in "Passing" Lane at 100km/h surprisingly not passing anyone. As there is no one in the other lane, and heaven forbid the car in front of you changes lanes because apparently they own the "Passing" Lane, you go into the other Lane to pass and as you do this the car in the "Passing" lane speeds up and tries to nullify your attempt at passing them. As you reach speeds of 150 km/h and finally pass them after nearly creaming another car in front of you, they then slow back down, and stay in that lane. NO Consistency. And for the fellows who read my rants, how about women? I love women and my wife who may be the one of the most consistent females I have ever met, but women are not consistent. Have you ever said the same thing twice, and one time got a nice reaction, and the next day a bad one? You didn't change anything you said, but they took it the wrong way? Lack of consistency.

Now lets look at competence. I have had people come to my house to fix a stove and not bring there "tools". So why did you come???? Another time I was to pick up contacts at set hour. When I arrived they didn't have them! And I all know you could name someone at your worksite who just blows "BS" out of there ass like they know what there doing, yet they have no friggin idea what they are doing. Yet they still have a job! I mean here is another example, Why do TeleMarketers or Telephone services like Bell and Rogers hire people who can't speak any of the offical languages of this country. I mean just as a thought, wouldn't that be a prequisite? You are communicating with someone over a phone. Your only Communication is Hearing and Listening, and yet they employ Narih san Da Brab, who's only english word he/she knows is "Hello Mr. Sandison". After this point it sounds like I am on the phone with someone from Bombay who is trying to milk a goat while continuing a conversation with me. Lack of Competence to do the job. Why does this happen? I mean anyone who knows me knows I have trouble hanging a picture, so would I apply to be a mechanic because of that. NO.

I just wonder why we accept lack of competence and consistency today.

Larry King Award Winner - Turner and Hooch

For some unknown reason I am a man who suffers from some of the worst luck (or bad Karma) that exists on this planet.

Case in point; I arrive in Toronto yesterday late at night from a trip to Nashville. As I come in there is about 100 people in Customs and 2 so called tough guy "Kojaks" with a loveable Black Labrador by there side. They walk up every aisle and Hooch decides by leg is his own personal hump stick as he sniffs my pocket and climbs on my leg. With this Kojak and Briscoe man the points as they spring into the "Arrest the guy with the golf shirt and Khakis mission, he looks like a drug dealer" I laugh as the cops man the exits just in case I might run and jump on the plane and fly somewhere. Knowing I have no drugs on me I laugh to myself at the utterly inept display shown. I guess to throw me off they do another round of Hooch smelling, and guess what Hooch likes the hell out of me. Then they throw in this twist, as I get up to the counter Hooch gets to go by me again. This time he jumps up on me and makes a pretty nice scene. I hear the oohs in aahs from the people behind me who are thinking they are seeing the greatest takedown in the history of Pearson International. Anyways surprisingly as I walk through the doors I am stopped by Turner, who definitly has a Napolean complex. His first question to me is "Where's the drugs" to which I say "I have none". He then comments that Hooch certainly liked me and he doesn't make mistakes. About 45 minutes later after being searched and played with I leave with no apology and surprisingly no handcuffs, Good to see the fine women and men of the Pearson international at there best. The scene they put on for everyone certainly made me feel like I was Manuel Noreiga walking into the US. By the way what Hooch smelled was my money. When the crowd went away and I was in a room with Hooch with my pockets empty and contents of my bag thrown everywhere, he didn't like me anymore. Turns out someone before me who possesed the money bill used it as a drug device. Of course 'Turner" still believes it was me. Anyways while I wish for a case of heartworm to Hooch and some height for Turner I am going to award the trophy to them. F^%& you.

In other ranting news,

1. I pretty much called the Pat O'Brien case, however instead of the living fossil Barbara Walters, Pat turned to the inbred hypocrite Dr. Phil. "Own it eh Dr. Phil, why don't you Own some hair and maybe Own a diet too

2. People who think Belinda Stronach defected to the Liberanos because she did not want to be a traitor to her ideals, should be sent to an insane asylum. The only reason she did it was because she received power. Now she is a cabinet minister with the same party who pretty much called her a slut and made fun of her 2 months ago. To join someone who badmouthed you and who you badmouthed has nothing to do with her values. The fact that some people who I consider smart believe this is a pretty big kick in the nards if you ask me. Paul Martin has now bought his survival. First by making a deal with smiling Jack "Stalin" Layton, not accepting a resignation vote that passed, and now adding a Hussy to his cabinet. Could make a good Sopranos episode titled, " How I stayed in power, Made a deal with a Commie and a Ho."

3. First off listening to baseball is not fun but as I went into work yesterday and heard the Fan 590's voices of the Blue Jays, Jerry Howarth and Warren Sawkiw banter, I wanted to hang myself. I don't mind Jerry but Warren Sawkiw is absolutely horrible. I mean does he have a job because the FAN 590 has to employ at least one mentally challenged person on its lineup. He brought up the fact that what a coincidence it is that Shannon Stewart wanted to stay in Toronto but went to Minnesota, and yet Cory Koskie wanted to stay in Minnesota and went to Toronto. What in the name of blue jesus does that have to do with anything you F'n retard. Heh once Paul Martin gets a Retards Are Us station to buy the mentally challenged vote on 81.3 FM, Warren would be the perfect host but for now get that god damn fruit off the air and at least put Mike Wilner in the position. He at least has an IQ over 40.

Larry King Award Winner Week of April 25th - Alonzo Mourning

Well this week the trophy goes to one of the biggest morons of the basketball world, otherwise known as the smartest athletes professional association. The biggest moron of them all seems to be Alonzo Mourning who said this week that he sacrificed everything for his chance to play with the Miami Heat and get into the playoffs and contribute. Well I suggest sacrifice is a pretty strong statement, and let's look at the ungodly sacrifice this asshole has made.

1. Signs a 3 year deal with the New Jersey Nets, not the Miami Heat, for a ton of money 2 years ago. Plays like a chump. But wants to be on a contender. Of course with his medical situation (which I will delve into later) his contract is uninsurable. New Jersey GM makes a big mistake.

2. In his first ultimate sacrifice he demands a trade back to the Heat because he is unhappy with direction of Nets. Of course this had nothing to do with his lousy play or lengthy absence. I mean this is the Basketball god known as ZO right. How could he play for this terrrible team, he has standards you know.

3. New Jersey try to buy him out. He refuses because in Zo's world sacrifice doesn't mean I don't get paid.

4. Gets traded to Raptors, refuses to shows up, comes up with the I am sick line. Meanwhile attending Heat games, and jumping up cheering for the club, but oh let's not forget the reason he isn't playing for Raptors is he is sick, therefore Raptors still have to pay him. If he refused to play no Money. Again sacrifice doesn't mean I don't get paid, right asshole.

5. Rob Babcock in a moment of David Koresh lunacy buys out The "Whole High and Mighty Sacrificer" Alonzo Mourning for 10 million. Meaning Alonzo doesn't play a second in Toronto and gets 10 million. Ladies and gentlemen if this is not sacrifice I don't know what is.

6. Signs with Heat professes he made an extreme sacrifice (10million, plus lying he is sick).

Well Zo we should just put the crown of thorns on you because aren't you just the J.C (Jesus Christ) of the NBA. The ultimate sacrifice of lying, cheating and taking money. Your a goddamn disgrace. Although if you meant sacrifice as giving up your dignity and manhood I could see that.

So what does the NBA do with this guy. They market him as someone people should look up to because he is a warrior for overcoming kidney problems. Well it's no wonder Kids are screwed up these days using these aholes as role models. Plus Alonzo how did your kidneys go wacko on you. I am guessing it was that Wheaties and milk you had for breakfast right? There is no possible way it was because your were on roids and taking painkillers like they were going out of style?

So Zo why don't you lay back pop a couple of pills, take some roids, and hopefully have another kidney failure, and while your at it Here's a trophy for you, the Larry King, because if there is any justice in the world, you should not win the NBA trophy. Peace out Alonzo "Jesus" Mourning.

Larry King Award Winner for week of April 18th - Paul Martin

While I believe if I ever hand out a Lifetime Larry King Acheivement Award the frontrunner would definately be Paul Martin, I have decided to give it to Mr. Dithers this week. Why you ask?

Well Let's see. Firstly I am grateful that I was in Nashville last week and didn't have to watch a sitting Prime Minister go on TV and beg the public for another year until the Gomery Inquiry is over. What a joke. Let me get this right Mr. Dithers, or I guess we could call you Mr. Gotti as you are the head of a criminal enterprise, you want to wait until the Gomery Inquiry of how the Public was bilked out of 250 million dollars so that Liberal friendly French Canadians and the Liberal party itself could make some money is finished. How F'n Noble of you asshole. The wire brush that will clean this mess up right. Let's go back to Fall 2003, when this scandal was first starting. You started the Gomery Inquiry and promised you would get to the bottom of it quickly, and we would learn everything we needed to know before an election. Oh but wait what did you do Paul? You called an early election so that the public would go to the polls before even a word was spoken in the Gomery inquiry. I wonder why you did that? And now you have the nerve to ask the other parties to hold off an election for 10 months. Who are you Jean Chretien? The guy you claimed to be the anthesis of.

Now let's look at you actions. You gave Mr. Chretien a standing ovation for his golf ball fiasco at the Gomery Inquiry. Old Jeanny Poutine basically showed no respect for the Candian public or the Gomery Inquiry at all, and you applaud this. Now you say it is important to finish the Inquiry, hoping upon hope the Canadian public will forget that a criminal enterprise is its sitting government. While I don't disagree that the majority of Canadians are that dumb, I think it is more then fair that we get to go to the polls immediately. The winner this week Pat O'Brien. Who is Pat O'Brien. Well first of all he is a supposed journalist. He has a show called The Insider which delves into Entertainment News. You know the guy who reports to desparate housewives with no life the fact that Jennifer Anniston dyes her hair a slighter tinge of blonde. I mean that crap is important. He also asks guys like Sean Penn there views on life, like we give a flyin f what these aholes think. One of these days I will do a good rant on shows like Entertainment Tonight, but I am not giving Pat O'Brien the award for being an entertainment reporter, although there is significant cause too. I am giving the award to Pat for his hysterical phone messages to an unknown woman who I think he works with. If you haven't heard it let me give you an overview, he calls a girl up completely trashed and goes on to tell her he will f*&& her about 100 times, and mentions the fact she is so F'n hot, and he wants to get a hooker some coke and party. Larry King Award winner for the week of March 21st - Barry Bonds

After declaring that Barry Bonds was going to be the Larry King Award Winner for the week of March 7th and deciding against it, instead I gave the award to baseball for two weeks, Barry came back to redeem himself. He may not make the Hall of Fame but he does win this prestigous trophy.

Why? Well it seems like Barry and his steroid infested body finally broke down this year and after three knee surgeries he held a press conference that had to be seen to be believed. It appears Barry won't be able to start the season. Boo-Hoo, so what does this jackass do? Trot out his 11 year old son, who looks like he hates his father as much as everyone else does, and blame the media for all his woes. Is this the same media who propelled you into star status by showing every homerun you hit while cheating? Is this the same media who has made you into a 20 million dollar baseball player? Barry, let me let you in on a little secret. You are a dispiscable human being, and to play yourself off as a saint is like saying Tom Green deserves an Oscar. I wonder if your son was thinking, "Heh my dad is hated by everyone in baseball including his own teamates, he has his own office in a team lockeroom, and has cheated on my momma all the time. I am so proud of him!" What makes it even more awful is the fact he is chasing Hank Aaron's homerun record. Barry says the media and fans have not be fair to him, and make his life hell. Hmmm Let's see what Hank Aaron's life was like while chasing Babe Ruth's records. Death threats everyday, racist comments every day, threats that when he hits the homerun that someone will go out on the field and kill him. That seems like it might be tough. Now lets look at Barry's ordeal. Cheats, uses steroids, bangs everyone but his wife, media won't question him on his drug use, Media show every homerun, and even applaud him. Yeah I can see the comparison.

Barry you are on roids, and cheating to break these records. Somehow this is being applauded by baseball, and the media, and you complain like your Star Jones running out of food at a buffet. Hank Aaron went threw hell. Your being protected by a disgusting game. But Barry take solace that you won the Larry King Award for the week of March 21st. Congrats!

Larry King Award Winner for March 7th and 14th The Sport Of Baseball

Well last week on Monday, I was going to deliver the award to Barry Bonds, however as I saw congress calling people to the stand I held off my post. After watching the festivities there was no question in my mind, that Baseball desrves the Larry King Trophy for two straight weeks. Congratulations.

First off let me start with my feelings on what I consider a hobby, not a sport. I know a lot of Americans, and even Canadians kick around hockey. They do it I believe for two reasons, Americans don't understand it, and Canadians love the sport. I have never understood how baseball escapes scrutiny, I mean the thing is not even a sport. Do you need to be an athlete to be in Baseball? No! I know baseball fans will talk about the need for speed, and such but that is poppycock. What does a centerfielder get? Max 5 balls hit to him in a game. WOW! And if you need to be an athlete please explain David Wells, Mike Piazza, Carlos Delgado, etc to me. I mean they are slower then Micheal Jackson trying to get to court on time. What about the physical nature of Baseball? LOL, The only time a guy gets hit is when he runs into a teamate chasing a ball. I also remember the time Al Leiter missed 2 years due to a Blister. I mean a blister for gods sake. If that ain't tough I don't know what is. Is Baseball a team game? NO. Baseball is a one on one individual competition of one person who can throw a ball fast and another who can hit a ball that is going fast, nothing more, nothing less. There is another game that is an individual competetion with 2 people who have a skill, its called billiards, and I for one don't call that a sport. If the Toronto Blue Jays for example throw out Roy Halladay and he gives up two hits, strikes out 15, and gives up 0 runs, does a Frank Catalanto help out? No! Baseball depends on individuals not teams. I also can't think of a worse hooby to watch then baseball. I mean if the thing got any more boring, I would be praying for the return of The Beachcombers! What happens Pitcher throws ball, catcher catches it, its called a strike or ball, wait 30 seconds, do again! Once in a while batter hits it, if it goes in play 2 seconds of excitement, if not in play go back to beginning. Wow earth shattering. Then the fun begins when they change the pitcher, Manager who usually is older then dirt takes 3 minutes to walk to mound, takes ball from pitcher, signals to bullpen, a man usually out of shape takes 5 minutes to walk to mound, unless John Rocker, takes ball from manager, throws 20 practice pitches which takes 10 minutes, go back to start. What an exciting game, no onder you need a full 24 pack to watch a game.

Enough of my rant on this hobby, Let's look at the economics of Baseball. Do the Kansas City Royals have a hope in hell of making the playoffs? No. Wow I wish I was a Royals fan, must be exciting to know my teams has no shot. Why do they not have a shot? Because Baseball doesn't control its teams spending. For instance I will wager a lot of dollars that either the Yankees, or Red Sox get to the World Series, Why? Because they bought there talent, they have more money. Simply put you can eliminate 20 teams before the start of the season. What other sport can you say that too? This is why I hope hockey gets there salary cap in.

Now lets look at the controversy of steroids. I will go out on a huge limb here and say Barry Bonds takes steroids. Wow no one knows that do they. But baseball and its fans still will not come out and say it. It's a joke. McGwire took steroids, so did Sosa, and Brady Anderson, Giambi admitted it, Canseco did too. Baseball and its record are built on Cheating. How does a Brady Anderson go from averaging 16 home runs a season to hitting 50? How does Barry Bbonds go from a skinny kid, to a built machine? No one in the American media will come out and say the facts. Bonds personal trainer developed Balco, a lab on trial for developiing steroids. Bonds is apparently such a health nut, and you want to tell me he had no idea what he took. I mean it is laughable, but ugh oh Bonds pulls out the race card when questioned, oh we need to back off! Barry Bonds is on juice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enough said even if baseball it's officials and the media won't say it. It's true. I also find it funny that baseball takes Pete Rose a gambler to task and won't put him in the Hall of Fame, but accepts and promotes using illegal drugs to break records. A sport? Yeah right.

In summation

Baseball is a boring hobby, played by cheaters, and run by criminals. If no one else will get on baseballs case I will. Baseball and all its hypocrites, come on up and accept the Larry King Trophy.

Larry King Trophy for week of Feb 28th 2005 - Rich Winter

Many will think it was a forgone conclusion that eventually I would get around to the morons of the NHLPA for a Larry King Trophy winner. I personal despise the majority of the NHL players. There leader Bob Goodenhow is a disgrace. He is the kind of guy I would throw a brick at if he was drowning. The players and Bob Goodenhow deserve this trophy week in and week out, however the winner this week is Rich Winter, a player agent.

Bob and his trolls gathered up the agents this week and had a meeting and I guess talked about next steps, which I know Goodenhow doesn't have, because what could possibly be the exit strategy for the players? After the meeting was over some agents opened there mouths (never a good thing) and said some pretty ridiculous things. At the top of the list was Rich Winter who stated;

''We're not going to lay down and kill the game just because a bunch of basketball people want their way,'' he said. ''Why are we taking directions from a bunch of basketball executives who only know how to lose millions of dollars, minimize talent and (screw up) TV deals?''

Oh I see Rich it would be better for the league to be run by "Can't hack it" lawyers who have no ability, so they brainwash players and become player agents, take 3% of there salaries and don't protect the safety of there players. That's fantastic. Go ahead Rich Winter your so brilliant let's let you make up the CBA. You then go on to pout that Bob Goodenhow is trying to protect the game of Hockey. Are you f'n kidding me? I know agents are scum of the earth but I didn't realize there brains are the size of maggots as well. If you think for a second that Bob Goodenhow is trying to protect the game of hockey, I have some land for sale in Florida I'd like you to buy! It is only about one thing RICH, you moron. It's about MONEY. Both sides, it's about money. And since the owners assume all of the risk right now they should be entitled to make money. And at an average salary of 1.3 million proposed the players would still make money. Hey Rich even with 3% you would pocket $39,000 a player. Not bad, but you want more, because heh you work so hard every 4 years foir your client. If your client had a brain he would make you give 1% or heh what a novel idea because everyone believes in free market right, get rid of agents all together. Now that's an idea.

Let me ask this Rich Winter, were you looking out for the best interests of the game when you held out Mike Comrie for a year? Or were you looking out for the best interests of the game when you decided to have Hasek sign with the Wings for 8 million then pull the "I am sick routine"? How about the Robert Svehla debacle? Or were you looking out for the best interests of the game when you bragged your clients would be set for 5 to 75 years before the lockout?. How about when you hid your client Patrik Stefan's medical records? Of course you weren't Rich, you were looking out for #1, yourself and your bank account. Hell the Hasek deal would have netted you $240,000 alone. So stop the bull crap Mr. Winter. There isn't anyone with a brain that believes your horsecrap so my advice would be to shut your trap.

And heh just for s$%$ and giggles. Lets munch on this gem of a comment made by Mr. Winters.

"Why is Gary trying to expand to Columbus and sell hockey to people who don't know what hockey is?" player agent Ritch Winter wondered in an interview with the Toronto Sun."

Well first Rich Columbus is actually a success. Second I wonder what your clients, who happen to be on the Blue Jackets feel about there agent if he says the team should be turfed? Third I know; Why don't we get rid of 10 teams in not so good markets? That will kill 200 jobs and maybe 10 of Mr. Winters clients. Brilliant I can understand why the players love you so much. Plus lets face it Rich you haven't made a profit off expansion Have you?

Larry King Trophy winner for week of Feb 21st 2005 - Nancy Lee

Another Larry King Trophy to hand out and this week it goes to CBC Sports boss Nancy Lee who fired Chris Cuthbert this week in a surprising move. The fact that she works for taxpayers and fired Cuthbert is not why she won the trophy. It is the fact that her reasons for firing Cuthbert are so absurd it is beyond reason. I know there is such hit programming on CBC like Wind At My Back, or the gut wrenching North Of 60, but lets face it Hockey Night In Canada is the only revenue generating show on CBC.

Lets take a look at what Nancy Lee said she was going to do when she took a job totally financed by the federal government, which means she works for us. She first stated she wanted to focus in more on female amateur sports. Well I don't know about everyone else, but the thought of watching womens trampoline, or womens rowing just gets me so excited I can barely contain myself. CBC sports must know that its biggest revenue drawing show is Hockey Night In Canada. Sure when CBC doesn't blow Curling coverage like they did this year, again well done Nancy, or the CFL they will get good audiences. But the main attraction for CBC is Hockey Night In Canada, and Olympic Coverage. First Nancy takes aim at Don Cherry. Yes let's go at one of the most recognizable and beloved characters in Canada. Well the public gets angry and Don gets a contract. Then it's Ron MacLean who is again the face of HNIC. Public gets angry Ron gets a contract. Then out of the blue she fires Chris Cuthbert, the best announcer they have on CBC, because of the NHL lockout, which is just hogwash.

Cuthbert is a tremendous announcer in my opinion who also does Olympic coverage and a variety of other sports like football, and figure skating. He is best known for his work on HNIC. But Nancy claims she had to let him go to save money. Cuthbert said he would have agreed to go on a sabatical until hockey started which would have cost CBC NO money. So what is the real reason Nancy? Was it personal? I think so, and what kind of boss makes decisions for personal reasons? A dumb and hopefully soon to be axed one? If you wanted to save money because of the NHL lockout, Why not Bob Cole? All he does is hockey, and I bet he makes the same amount. Since Nancy Lee has taken over CBC sports it has gone down the drain. Losing Olympics, blowing Curling, going to war with ever HNIC personality for contracts is a good way to get yourself the Larry king Trophy. Enjoy it Nancy, you feminist CBC Sports albatross bitch.

Larry King Trophy Winner For Week Of Feb 14th - Irwin Cotler

Well another week and another Larry King Trophy award winner. Most people would think after the disgusting display by the NHLPA and there talking heads on TV; Glenn Healy and Nick Kypreos that I would lean to giving the award to the NHLPA. While they are deserving, one person stepped up this week and made a statement so assinine that I could not in good conscience ignore it. Irwin Cotler the Justice Minister, step right up and claim your award. The NHLPA will be dealt with in an article, I will post when my blood pressure comes back to normal.

Why does Mr. Cotler receive the Trophy? After another weekend in Toronto where 4 people were shot Chief Julian Fantino and even the Ontario Attorney General Micheal Bryant called to Ottawa, rightfully asking that stiffer sentences be handed down on people who carry illegal guns. Keep in mind how much money (1 billion, when originally forecasted at 1 million) has poured into a gun registry program that only punishes people who legally carry arms, and was supposed to dwindle the amount of illegal arms on the street. How does Irwin Cotler answer the request?

"We are concerned whenever there is an outbreak of violence, but we don't enact laws in response to a particular event, however regrettable and tragic it is for the victims."

An EVENT, Irwin you piece of crap if you haven't paid attention the increase of violence with weapons has been staggering in the past couple years. Regreattable to the Victims? When have you passed a law that gives Victims not Criminals rights? And heaven forbid the Federal Governement react to something so minor as illegal guns and violence when there is more important things to tend to like Gay Marriage Rights!!!!!! Mr. Cotler that comment is about the dumbest thing I have heard from a Liberal this year, and that is a challenge. There should be mandatory STIFF sentences for anyone who is in possession of an unregistered deadly weapon. There also should be minimum 10 year sentences to anyone who commits a crime with a deadly weapon. But Irwin doesn't want to react quickly, well thats no surprise coming from the fact he is a Liberal under Paul "Ditherer" Martin.

Simply put Irwin in a language even your moronic brain could understand. People don't carry 9mm's, or automatic weapons to go hunting for deer! They are carrying them with intention of carrying out significant harm to another human. That is a crime. Punish them accordingly, and give the police some help in fighting this battle. Oh I know you completed a 2 year study that states harsher sentences don't necessarily lower crime rates. But since the government you work for can't stop foreign illegal immigrants associated with gangs from entering this country, the least you can do is give the police the tools to combat them. I wonder if you would have made the same comment if one of your family members was hit with a bullet while leaving a grocery store?

Larry King Award For the Week of Feb 7th - Sean Avery

I have decided to award a Larry King trophy every week. You might ask what does the Larry King Trophy stand for? Well it ain't a good thing. Larry King, who is by far the worst interviewer in the history of TV, decided to go on a local sportstation FAN 590 and give away the ending to Million Dollar Baby, a movie that had not been released yet. What FAN 590 was thinking putting this doofus on is a good question. Larry, who is currently working on his what 12th marriage I guess, decided he wanted to show how popular a guy he is that he got to see the premiere and gives away the ending to the movie. Way to go Larry you are so popular, just like when you claim to be friends with Sandy Koufax, and he doesn't know you. However Larry does throw a wrench in the evolution theory of man descending from apes, because if you look at Larry you could reasonably state that we were derived from amphebians. The man looks like a frog, and is a complete a-hole. So without further ado the Larry King trophy for this week goes to......Sean Avery a forward for the LA Kings who scored 9 goals last year, hell I scored more then that when I was single, and trust me I am no Brad Pitt.

Why does Sean Avery get the award? Well Sean Avery decided to give a intervew this week, his first mistake. He then gives his take on his trip to Finland. He says it was too dark and cold and wasn't much of a vacation, plus he scored 3 goals in 2 days so the league isn't that good. Well Sean if you did score 3 goals in 2 games, I will agree that the League must suck, but I didn't know being locked out should be a vacation. Secondly he says he will be worth 2 million. Are you on crack? 9 goals a year gets you 2 million, no wonder the NHL is out of control, and for that reason Sean, the NHL will shutdown and get a cap to make sure your dumb ass won't get that money and I support them. You then state you are going to the UHL which mind you has a SALARY CAP, the same bloody thing your fighting against right now you F'n hypocrite. When asked aren't you taking away another job from a career minor leaguer who hasn't made the amount of money you make in a week you say They should work harder! Are you kidding me? Sean maybe you can work harder and get someTALENT so the NHL games are watchable. Your the type of player who has NO talent and hooks and grabs and scrapes. Then when asked about having too many teams, you say they can cut teams and get rid of mediocre European players who come over to play. So the medicore european player is the problem, well sorry Sean "Harold Ballard" Avery if I don't agree with you. Heh jackass maybe the Swedish elite league is saying the same thing right now that there is too many medicore North american players in the league. And Sean to even lump yourself in the mediocre player is a strecth, you are the Wade Belak of the Kings. here's hoping someone in the UHL knocks you out, or when the NHL starts with a SALARY CAP, you are left in the dust.

Some random thoughts that have entered my mind lately

1. Would it be possible for the new NHL CBA whenever it is negotiated to include the fact that Al Strachan has to travel to every NHL site and be stoned.

2. Last month in Toronto a woman found $40,000 on the street and returned it to a bank. I agree this is admirable but her reason for doing this was she didn't want any money that isn't hers. Considering she is on welfare, my question to her is Where does the money from your welfare cheque come from? It is definately not yours, or earned.

3. Would Southeast Asia help us out if we had a disaster?

4. Why when people die, like Johnny Carson this week, does every B-List celebrity come out and cry about how spectacular the person was. I am just waiting for Suzanne Sommers to bring her infested ass out and get some attention crying.

5. In an article yesterday The Muslim Board of Canada (or something like that) was upset that heaven forbid a Christian family might adopt an orphan muslim baby from the Tsunami relief. They pointed out it is not right for a Christian to adopt a muslim which leads me to two questions. 1. So is it better to starve to death then be adopted? and the 2nd one by there rational; Why is it OK for a prodominenlty Christian country to allow Muslims? Hmmm

Gay Marriage - Who Cares. Paul Martin = Coward

Recently it appears that gay marriage has become the hot button issue in Canada. I happen to be a happy heterosexual male who doesn't care if homosexuals are given the right to marry. To me it just doesn't matter, and I am not about to tell someone else how to live there life. I feel if they want the right to lose half there pension (just joking) then go ahead, however I also believe if a church is opposed to it they shouldn't be forced into it. When I was single I used to joke that to me gay guys were alright it was the lesbians I disliked because they were competition. I mean a gay guy was one less competitor on the scene.

But enough of my sometimes sad single life, I just think there are way to many more important issues then gay marriage on the table right now that we should focus on. One being that our dearly departed Immigration Minister Judy Sgro was recruiting Romanian Strippers to campaign for her with promises of a favourable immigration hearing. On top of that she was alleged to have a member of a terroist group Tamil Tigers as her secretary, and finally had to resign because another allegation surfaced that she was getting free pizzas from a man she had promised would be seen favourably by the immigration board. The fact that Paul Martin did not off her from cabinet until she resigned shows the man's cowardice and from the Carolyn Parrish incident we can see the only way a member can be booted is if they bad talk Martin. Considering how messed up are Immigration policy is, this is just another kick in the teeth.

Another issue is the disturbing trend of violence appearing in Toronto. In some cases there are witnesses to the crime who do not come forward because they are apparently scared. I don't buy this at all, they are not scared, they are cowards and just as immoral as the person/people who stabbed/pulled the trigger. This brings up back to our criminal laws which are in favour of the accused and not the victim. We need to be tougher on crime, not pay lipservice to it.

We have a governor general who spends her time vacationing when she should have attended a funeral in Alberta. After she makes up excuse after excuse I started to think Why do we need a Governor General? I mean she spends 40 milion to fly around the world including a vacation up north to be what? Irrelevant! I mean Adrienne Clarkson has the best job in the world; Shop, Throw Parties and Vacation on the Canadian taxpayers dime and once in a while shake some hands. Even with this cushy job she couldn't break a vacation to perform a duty that comes with the job? Just terrible.

And our fearless Leader while on his trips abroad decides to spend little time with D.A.R.T, preferring to get a good location for a photo-op. He then decides to boast while in China about his rights record and his stance on gay marriage. Is he serious? This guy is so courageous he chose to let the Supreme Court rule on it and then abide by there decision. This is the same guy who said a few years back he believed in not changing the definition of marriage, and now has flip-flopped, because the public has. Bryan McCabe "The Scarecrow"

I dislike Bryan McCabe. What the funniest thing about him is that he thinks he is relevant!

First off he may be the most overrated defensemen in the league right now. I call him the Scarecrow for a reason. "If he only had a brain". Does he have talent? Yes. But he can't think. His braincramp plays are a regular event of a Toronto Maple Leafs game. The fact he is a player’s rep for the TML in the NHLPA speaks volumes to the mentality of the Leafs, and might speak to the disgusting way the NHLPA has acted so far. He made a comment awhile ago that a million dollars was not a lot of money, and while that was stupid, his most recent comment about Gary Bettman proves he is dumb. I might not be a doctor but my diagnosis is Bryan has a touch of the Downs.

He says that Gary Bettman wouldn’t know him if he tripped over him. Heh Bryan hate to burst that ego bubble you got going on but 99.999999999999% of the American Public doesn’t have a clue who you are either. And yet your NHLPA is negotiating a deal like the NHL is a top draw.

His next comment is classic “Bettman doesn’t know about hockey, he is a basketball man.” Bryan, you disgusting moron, what in the f’n hell do you know about Collective Bargaining????????????. Comments like this drive the public mad. I know one thing Bryan, without the owners and the NHL you would not have a job. Take that into account. Your mentality does not bode well for you in getting a job after hockey, Although I hear the Burger King in Toronto is looking for a hell of a janitor. You might fit the bill perfectly.

By the way Bryan how was that Swedish stint –12 and benched, and could you belive the audacity of that team to expect Bryan to stay in Sweden a couple of days over Christmas. Wow an employer expecting an employee to do his job, Crazy!

My take on the NHL Lockout

As the owners and players prepare to meet tomorrow, I felt it appropriate that I share my views on this subject. I know some of you who know me will wonder why it took me so long to comment on this issue. The answer is simple. The process stinks, and the way the NHLPA and players act is disgusting. Let me explain why Bettman should reject the proposal the players gave him and ask for a hard salary cap, or at the least a Luxury Tax with bite.

Gary Bettman did the right thing at the beginning of this process; He told the owners to be quiet, and it worked. The players on the other hand spoke out about how hard done by they are, and that Bettman is the devil. I will rank my top 3 comments by the players so far.

Mike Modano offers up this beauty when asked if going to the minors for a $1000 a week paycheck is an option.
"$1000 a week wouldn't be enough to take care of my dog"

Scott Niedermayer who got 7 million from a judge (I will address this later)
" I believe in capitalism, and a free market" Well Scott how does a union fit into that?

The gem of all gems though belongs to Robert Esche;
"It doesn't matter if they offer a $200 million dollar salary cap we would still turn it down" Oh just beautiful, and this guy is a players rep!! Unbelievable.

By keeping quiet the owners easily won the PR battle because they realize the public for the most part can't comprehend making this amount of money. So when the McCabe's(How was Sweden -12 in 10 games sounds right for the Scarecrow), Drapers, and Doan's of this world mouth off, the public gets upset.

Now let's look at how the NHLPA has negotiated so far. First Mr. Goodenhow goes and hides for 3 months and then after all that time away he comes back to the table with a 24% reduction in salaries on all existing contracts. Johnny "Misinformed" Public goes WOW that's a really big concession. I say it is BS. Why? There are only 100 or so players with contracts that have a maximum of 3 years left on it. So when those contracts are up, are you telling me the Rangers, Leafs, Red Wings of the NHL will stop outbidding each other? The union is banking they won't. Let's say the Leafs have a payroll of 60 million currently. A 24% reduction would take it down to around 44 million. With the legion of Leafs fans (I sadly am one) yelling and screaming about how much the Leafs make, will John Ferguson stay with a 44 million dollar payroll? Answer is NO. He will go out and spend 15 million on washed up players, and bring the payroll back to 60 million again. Again that is what the union is banking on. The Glenn Healy's and Nick Kypreos of this world can go on and on about what a great "significant" move this was, but they lack an objective or intelligent mind. How does the NHLPA offer stop the systemic issues? It doesn't

Here I offer my personal opinion of what the NHL counter proposal should look like. Keep in mind Scott Niedermayer's comments and that of most players which is the owners control the market and price, and the players believe in capitalism and free market. Right now the owners have no control, so let me put forth my ideas.

1. Take the 24% rollback. The NHLPA offered, I would accept this
2. Goodbye salary arbitration. That's right you NHLPA imbeciles you feel the owners can control the costs, well let's make that so. The problem with salary arbitration is that for example the Rangers sign Holik for 9 million. Now some bum like Shane Doan gets the same numbers as Holik in a year where his contract is up. He is to young for free agency, so he applies for arbitration and a judge looks at the fact he has similar stats to Holik who makes 9 million. Does the owner determine the salary? NO. A judge does, so how does that fit into the Niedermayer statement? It doesn't. Let's let the owners control there costs and abolish salary arbitration. With salary arbitration, the mistake of one owner can cost all the other 29 teams dearly.
3. Keep the rookie cap the NHLPA proposed. Oh did I say cap, I thought the NHLPA doesn't like caps. Ahh but it is the old union way, Screw the young guys!!!!!, well if I read a union right everyone is equal so if the rookies get a cap so does everyone else, it makes everybody equal right Bob.
4. I would setup a real Luxury Tax system, not one that pays 20 cents on every dollar over 45 million. It would look like this
Any dollar spent over 35 million would be taxed 200%, any over 45 million would be 300%, and you could not go over 60 million (capped).
5. Lower the age for free agency to 27.
6. Have non guaranteed contracts. Would prevent Alex Mogilny syndrome. One good year every 3 years, you know when the contract is up.

What the NHLPA has to face is that Hockey is not a top 4 sport. Actually the PBA and World Series of Poker outdraw it in the States. The majority of the revenue is through gate sales and merchandising. If the most successful leagues in the world can tie revenues to expenses, why can't the NHL. Well tomorrow should be the end to the 2004-2005 season, as Gary is not dumb enough to not hold out for the control the owners need in the CBA to properly run this league.

While Tom "How the hell am I in the NHL" Fitzgerald goes off about how that will make the NHLPA stronger, I will wait for the 2005-2006 season with replacement players. I can hear it know, Bob Cole saying "Harold Druken to Lonny Bohonos, to Kyle Wellwood, He scores." FANTASTIC!!!!!

11 year old girl shot. What next?

I was disturbed to hear about the story of an 11 year old girl who was shot in the head while riding the TTC. Also shot was a 24 year old man. The story stated that the 24 year old victim got into an arguement with a bunch of thugs on the bus. This of course would lead to one of the thugs bringing out a gun and lighting up the bus.

When did people start having no respect for human life? As of this afternoon both victims were in serious condition in hospital, and for what? Someone disrespected these jokes. Excuse my non-political statement here, but if and when these animals are caught, why do we show compassion to them. Why is it that victims and there families are the ones who are punished? I have read lately a lot of horror stories of victims of crimes having to deal with the fact that the criminal is being released back into society? WHY? In this case the victims did not know the criminals. If someone can shoot up a bus, why is it wrong to lock this person up and throw away the key. And to a greater extent why don't we treat them like they do there victims, and shoot them in the head.

But we all know the bleeding hearts we have in this country, like the Richard Gere look-a-like Toronto Mayor David Miller who believes crime can be solved by building basketball courts. David would want to analyze the criminals mind and try to soothe him, Heh just give him a hug, that's all he needs right? This attitude is exactly the reason why crime is going up. It is nearly becoming a daily event to hear about these stories.

The most disturbing part is the fact that no witness had come forward to identify these men. These witnesses are nearly as bad as the criminal. Why will they not come forward? Scared? An 11 year old girl was shot in the head, and you want to protect the people that cause this, F-You. The only description was that they were 4 black males with dark coats, so they should be easy to find! Poor Chief Fantino having to deal with this. This chief (who was also the Chief of London, Ontario) has had to deal with corrupt cops, more guns on the street, and now a Mayor who's favorite author is Karl Marx. Chief Fantino has done a very good job considering the circumstances. His reputation is that he is tough on criminals, which doesn't jive with Mayor Miller's Hugs and Kisses attitude. Of course the result of this is that Toronto will be looking for a new Chief, as Miller put his "guys" on the Police board and they chose not to renew Fantino's contract. Miller says he had nothing to do with it, which is like OJ Simpson saying he had nothing to do with those Brentwood murders. So while we wait for the next great Andy Griffith to be the next Toronto chief, I just hope that these 4 gangbangers get caught and are given the proper punishment.

Goodbye Chloe

On Oct 15th my wife and I had to put our cat Chloe to sleep after a month long downward spiral, which we learned was cancer. The speed at which Chloe descended was lightning fast and came as quite a shock to Joyce and I. A month before, she had received a glowing report after a checkup.

I know the comment will come "It's only a cat.", and heh before I met Chloe I might have been one of those people. I was always a dog person and never fond of cats, even after I moved in with Joyce. Joyce and Kim had 2 cats (Murphy and Chloe) and when I first moved in, none of them warmed up to me. However about 2 months passed, and finally Chloe warmed up to me. It started with me sitting on the couch, and her plopping down in front of my feet. After I rubbed her with my feet she never let me sit, without her coming looking for pets.

Chloe had a very distinct personality which I grew to love. She would always start out at my feet where I could reach her, then after a couple minutes of pets she would shift out to where I couldn't reach her, and look back at me for more pets. Her major time to do this was when I was watching Leaf games. Of course if you know me I would start to yell when the Leafs started playing like crap (especially McCabe). When I'd yell; Chloe would leave the room, and within seconds come back in and plop at my feet. This is a ritual I will always remember and will miss deeply. Chloe also had this habit of spreading out on the living room table when Joyce had the fireplace on. This drove me nuts but then I would look at her and melt, at how cute she looked and how comfortable she was. She was also a big fan of her "Treaty Treats". If Murphy hesitated for a second on her bowl Chloe would attack it with wild abandon then go to her bowl.

In the days before; where she was going the wrong way quickly I talked to my buddy Dave and he reminded me of a nickname I used to call her. "The General". The reason I called her this was the way she waddled into a room, her stomach dragging across the living room rug, and demanding respect. Thanks Dave for the reminder of the name.

In her last days it was tough for Joyce and I to see Chloe not be "The General" anymore. The decision to put her to sleep was an easy one for us to make as she was starting to suffer and feel pain.

I know this is not the tough guy thing to admit but I have felt deep pain at the loss of Chloe. One explanation I heard; was the only emotion a pet will show you is love. They never get upset, yell, or judge you, and this made some sense to me.

The biggest compliment for Chloe was she turned a "Dog man " into a "Cat Man".

Goodbye Chloe ("Wooey Wooz") Rest easy, you will be missed and always remembered with great memories.

Traveling Fun

In the last year my job has requires that I travel. I average about 1 week a month on the road. Here is a list of my rants on traveling.

1. As you board a plane, what usually happens is you are called to board by seat number. They will start off with First class and when they call first class it seems like everyone just rushes to the gate like if they don't get on the plane in the next 5 minutes God will strike them down with a lightning bolt. I mean are people this stupid. Sadly the answer is yes!!!!!. What becomes even more hilarious is the attendant will say over the loud speaker Boarding Rows 21-30 and the line gets bigger. When my row of 10 is called, as I board the plane I notice I am the last one to get on the plane from row 10. My point is why do the airlines persist in calling by row numbers if they just allow everyone one. I say if someone boards before there row is called, embarrass them and make them wait, otherwise stop this drill.

2. When going through customs, people should realize this simple fact. Your not more important then the 100 people in front of you. Everytime someone behind me starts yelling at one of the officials that they are going to miss there plane because of this line, and demands to be let through. The officals usually tell them they have to wait just like everyone else but deep down I know they want to slap them. My advice would be to SHOW UP EARLIER you nimrods. Also, please don't get into a heated discussion with your significant other while waiting in line.

3. If you cant speak English, please don't ask the person sitting beside you to fill out your customs card. I had the misfortune of sitting beside a lady who couldn't speak a word of English. She poked at me and started saying "Plane, Plane". I thought I was on Treasure Island for awhile. She then pointed at her customs card and tried to hand it to me with a pen. I gave it back to her. She had filled out all the other lines in a different language. How is someone who can't speak a word of English accepted into Toronto via Minnesota? I guess that is a different subject.

4. I know I am not the prettiest thing to ever hit our planet of Earth, but as I go to sit beside you, please don't roll your eyes and curse the airline for having to sit beside me. I know I am preventing you from having an extra empty seat where you can rest your infected feet on, but I would like to have a seat too.

5. If your bag is bigger then you, please check it. Everytime some idiot is trying to cram there bag into the overhead department. Usually what happens is that I am asked to remove my computer bag from that department and rest it under my feet so some righteous piece of crap can fit there huge bag into it. Again remember this fact, You are not that important!!!!

6. When they ask you to bring up your seat and stow away your tray table, please do it. I can't believe how many times people wait for the attendant to come before doing this. Do they believe they are so important that the attendant will let that rule slide for them.

Canadian Olympic Showings

Our Olympic showing so far has been abysmal, and I won't comment on whether some athletes choked, or folded up like a cheap tent under the pressure. What I will comment on is these ridiculous notions by some of the athletes that we can't do well without pouring more money into programs.
Let me first comment, I am by no means an athlete, or in good shape. However I am not begging for more money. So let's say Perdita Felecien had more money would she have not wiped out? Would the rowers have gone faster if they all had some extra dough? The answer of course is NO. So why do these athletes, and some fans state that with more money we would have more medals. I don't know about you but if I am going to invest my money (get ready this is my non politically correct statement) I am certainly not going to invest it in losers.
My suggestion would be to first take all the money it took to fly the Canadian Olympic Committee and put that back into the program and leave the C.O.C morons at home. What do they contribute other then filing a dumb complaint and complaining about an athem they had already approved of? That would save you approx $400K. The next item would be to focus on some main sports rather then becoming to thin. Let's face some harsh facts no one cares about the damn trampoline. Lets focus on some main events we are on track with. I would suggest diving, rowing, wrestling, boxing, cycling, and maybe swimming, and master these events. Spend all our money on these events and try to develop talent, sort of like what the Aussies did with swimming.
This is just my opinion, but if the athletes are looking for more money, I say hit the old private sector up, because the public is taped out and not going to try to keep losers afloat.

Is there such thing as Canadian pride?

I took an excursion out in downtown Toronto on Canada Day and was very disheartened at what I saw. It was Canada Day yet I saw more Greece and Portugal Flags then I did Canadian ones. Granted both Greece and Portugal were going to play for the Euro 2004 Cup but it was Canada Day for gods sake. Why do people who were born in this country think they are from where there parents or grandparents were born. While listening to the Fan 590 after Greece won the Cup I could only laugh when some moron was saying how great it was that his country won the Cup. When asked where he was born he replied Toronto????????? Had he ever visited Greece, NO he replied. In my case my father was born in Scotland. If I was asked; I don't answer I am Scottish, as that commercial goes even though I hate the beer I AM CANADIAN. It is great that in Canada we celebrate different cultures but people need to remember you live in Canada and enjoy all the freedoms that come with it. I hate to break the news to people but if you live in Canada, you are not Finnish,Swedish, Scottish, English, Greek, etc. You are a Canadian, and take some pride in it. Take those Greece flags off your car and put a Canadian one with it.

Ontario Voters

One thing that needs to be said after what I deem a disappointing result in the past weeks federal election. Ontario and maybe for the most part all Canadians are the best damn complainers in the world, but when it comes to doing something about it, we fail miserably. It really is a disgrace, and I am sure that when the Liberal government lies, and fails to implement there hell or high water promises the same people who voted for the Liberals will again start complaining. If you didn't vote or you voted for these crooks YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN.

I also laugh (although it is more scary then funny) when people who voted for Paul Martin are asked why they did they answer because Stephen Harper scared me. What did Stephen Harper do to scare you? "Well I read in the news, or Paul Martin said, or The Toronto Star editor said he was going to take away abortion!" Well that is all poppycock and the voters who voted Liberal because they are scared of Stephen Harper are nothing but sheep. If you didn't vote for Harper because you disagreed with his policies..Fine. But I guarantee you most voters had no idea what is policies were. They only heard he was going to take away abortion, and gay marriage, which was totally False. Ontario is again responsible for this sham of a government again. The only good thing is my riding is Blue not Tax Hungry red.

Flames lose. Smarty Jones loses and how do you take Boxing seriously

What a disappointing day in sports.

First Smarty Jones doesn't win the Belmont Stakes

Second the Calgary Flames who dominated from the midpoint on lose with the goal being scored by Martin St. Louis who was claimed off waivers from Calgary. It would have been great for my parents as well who were at the game to see the Cup. There would have been many great stories of the celebration.

Thirdly I watched the Oscar De La Hoya - Felix Sturm fight. To put it bluntly Sturm dominated this fight, yet when it went to the judges they all score the fight 115-113 for De La Hoya. How can you take this sport seriously. The judges are corrupt, and wanted to setup a so called Mega Fight with Hopkins and De La Hoya. This sport is a joke, and might as well put the tagline of WWE beside there name as the outcome is pre determined. Shame on them, and shame on De La Hoya to say he won the fight. Unless the judges went to the Helen Keller school of judging they were bought, and if that's the case I ask How do you take this sport seriously?

On a side note with Ronald Reagan passing away today I will ask, Is there any other world leader who could deliver a speech better then him? Farewell.
